I think both teams have been guilty of taking their eye off the ball a bit recently but i reckon both teams will be bang on it for Friday. These are the games the players will be looking forward to and will be fired up for compared to a normal game.

I think both teams have realised theres no point caning it every week like they did last year because its not worth it in the end sadly.

Personally I think both yourselves and us had one eye on this friday's match when playing London and Wakefield respectively. And I hardly imagine either team will muster up a similar defensive performance.

As another poster eluded to, its very difficult to predict this one as both teams aren't out of 3rd gear yet really. It'll be interesting to see what unfolds.

One thing I do know is this particular fixture is arguably my favourite each season.

Going back to a point made on a previous page. For me at the moment I think the Wigan Wire rivalry is a hell of a lot more intense than with Saints, And that's simply because Warrington have started to compete at the top end of the SL. And they're clear hatred of us is more evident to see. Hatred isn't a word I like to associate with Rugby League, but unfortunately that's the vibe that is starting to become apparent between a minority of fans. If you asked me who I'd rather beat at the moment, it would be Warrington everytime. If you'd asked me 10 years ago however when Warrington where lower down in the table and weren't seen as a threat then It would have been Saints.

The Saints derby however is still big, and has the History/Rivalry that no other Derby will ever have besides maybe the Hull derby (arguably)... However in my experience I've always felt that whilst rivalries with Saints on the pitch have always been fierce, outside the ground for me its been generally a lot more of a friendly experience than with Warrington. Not that I'm saying Warrington fans are scumbags or violent or anything, I happen to be friends with a number of Wire fans who are great to get on with. Just the general feeling I get either leading upto matches or on match day itself is much more "enjoyable" (maybe not the word im looking for but meh) for a saints match. And I think that's more evident aswell with some of the Childish posting which has happened around here over the last few years whenever Wigan/Wire have met.

Anyway back on topic!... Looking forward to what should be a great and possibly high scoring game the way both teams have defended the last few weeks.

Kind of agree Robbo. The hatred that comes from the Wire fans, added to their delusions of grandeur, are why I want to get one over on them but Saints will ALWAYS be THE game for me. Id swap a win tomorrow for one on Good Friday.

According to Lenagan on radio manchester wire have sold less than usual, only 3300 so far against 4500 last year and 6000 the other year.

Such a shame, they need to play their part if they want this occasion to be great.
