| Quote ="MattyB"Just gives you lot another excuse to dip into the overseas market.
Remember the bad old days on here when Saddo took joy in bragging that the Wigan club were a team riddled with mediocre overseas imports whilst Saints promoted from within.
How times change eh?
'"
Haha. Our clubs, along with Leeds, have lead the way for a long long time now in terms of promoting their own players from within. Not much has changed there mate.
We still have Lomax, Makinson, Jones, Percival, Swift, Richards, Roby, Savelio, Thompson and Greenwood who have all come through our system and are all 1st team regulars. Add to that another 5 or 6 who have played 1st team and will hopefully progress further over the next couple of years, we aren't doing bad.

| Quote ="WARRIORCRAIG"Dual reg hasn't been an option since mid July.
I'd stick with Gelling even though he was very hit and miss against Hull (woeful defence but some excellent skill for Josh's try). He needs another game under his belt and as much as Bateman can do a very good job in the centres, he gets through a lot more work and sees more of the ball when he's at SR.
The injuries we've had to our centres and SRs this season have almost been a blessing in disguise. Towards the end of last season after Joel came back I don't think we ever got the balance right of rotating Joel, Faz and Bateman in the SR. Bateman in particular, was being left on the bench too long. That hasn't really been a headache SW has had to deal with this season.'"
Doran definitely played for Workington a few weeks ago. Is he on loan rather than dual reg? Tough one but I'd still leave out Gelling for this one and bring him back the week after against Cas, he was just top poor against Hull and we need to have our best possible chance of a home play off given our form at the DW. Get him back in against Cas then he's got an opportunity to get back in for the semi final. It feels so strange arguing for him to be dropped after spending so long arguing for him to be picked!
