A report in todays Express says that Salford had 14 players on the field for app 3 plays during the match with Cas at the weekend.

The RL is expected to make a statement today with a possible tribunal next week.

Surely the RFL officials must share some blame. They employ someone to stand near the dug-outs and ensure its 'one for one', a simple task!

There was a picture of it the other day on Twitter. Clearly 14 people and could have changed the result of the game. They were defending their own try line for three play the balls not long before the end of the match. How can the officials not notice when there's an official there doing the interchanges. One off, one on. Quite simple really, surely?

If Salford are punished, then the match-day officials should be fined a hefty sum, and it should be publicised that they have been punished, rather than the usual "sweep it under the carpet" approach of dealing with officials' gaffs.

Unless things have changed a lot since I was a ref the interchange official doesn't get paid and the reserve doesn't get much either. Demotion/internal disciplinary maybe but I wouldn't fine them
