In offering its backing, the Board of NHS Hull has agreed to financial investment of £1 million in the project, which would serve as a ‘hub’ for NHS Hull to deliver a number of preventative public health programmes right in the heart of the community, including:
· healthy hearts screening
· weight management
· active lifestyles sessions
· stop smoking support
· exercise on prescription.
The facility would also serve as the new training ground for Hull FC, thereby bringing the club’s facilities back into the city, and allow both Hull FC and NHS Hull to link with local schools to raise awareness of, and career aspirations within, the health and sports fields.
