| 3 months to go until we start our season and I can honestly say that not since 2006 have I been as keen to get started.
Off the park I am expecting that we will attract more fans to games than we managed in 2014 (1,294) and would hope to see it nearer 3,000. 3k in that ground will be pretty intimidating given you can almost touch the players and home advantage is going to be key to survival.
The novelty of a new ground will help in terms of away fan numbers, but we really need to work hard on identifying the ex-pat Wigan/Saints/Leeds fans that live in the smoke but only come for their 1 game a year.....PLEASE COLLECT DATA ON EVERY TICKET SOLD
As soon as the fixtures are released (when is that BTW?), we need to plan for 11 EVENTS.......get local schools involved, contact CAMRA/local Brewers, local Businesses.......really get busy and start to build expectation. I'd get at least one under age side (15's?) going at the club and have trials involving all the schools local to the ground......
For the big 3, I'd make it all ticket with no walk ups permitted and I'd have the West London Chargers or Hammersmith Hoists playing as warm up games as often as possible.....Oh, one last thing. If we still have any data from previous seasons, for gods sake write to everyone......or call them, or email them.......I've had nowt from the club via email on years ('though that might be for a different reason ).......
On the park, it looks like we're building potentially the biggest pack in SL (how many props do we need???) and although I expect us to struggle, I'm going with 10th spot.......let's hope we pick up a centre and sammut signs..........I think we'll finish above Salford and Wakefield who for some reason have signed Brough????? That's like signing the plague IMHO....

Wakey have signed Poison and if they don't start well, he will be toxic in their dressing room.
HKR are a hard one to read as they've unloaded a fair chunk of their squad and I think they've recruited well, but if they don''t gel, I see them making up the bottom 4....
...FC need to win and win early BTW.....

| A lot depends on further recruits imo.
If the rumours re Amor and Morgan are true, then I'd be far more optimistic.
Add a quality half back and loose forward and I'd be very confident of avoiding relegation.

| Be happy if we stay up to be honest, that’s got to be the realistic expectation. But salford only survived last season due to one player, that will not be enough to get them through a season. Wakey could be interesting as folk say. Hudds could be in the lower end of league.
We have to grasp home advantage.

| CMG as the person I rely on for statistics, and because I am lazy, over the last few seasons how many points have the bottom placed team managed to collect? would give a benchmark for a minimum requirement we would need!

| I have to agree. Fourteen points should be enough.
I think home games will be crucial to our survival. We need to make Trailfinders a fortress. The fact that we have an artificial pitch, which a lot of teams dislike, could be a help.

Certainly avoid 2014, particularly as I attended every home game except Leeds which we won!
home is key I agree, any away win will be a bonus!

| Yes 2014 was grim. We were lucky that we got that win and that Leeds took us lightly.I think they had one eye on the Cup Final. However if I remember that we were down in the first half and came back, we managed to hang on to win.
Not a good way to bow out of Super League.

The team had some decent players who went on to better things. We just seem to leave it to late to prepare
Hence why I hope we get our signings done early so we can get ready as a squad.

...nope, because the "parents" have shown what happens even when the kids play on the main pitc....they bail staight away and don't hang about for the main game......this is what has happened since we first reached out to the kids and it will always happen as it is eating into the parents weekends. Do it local and the kids can walk home.

Been tried and tested and failed. An example would be the Hoists who are only interested in the social aspect of the game and who head to Belushi's afterwards, because they are sponsored by them. The only way to get clubs like that to come to the party is to sponsor them..........

=#FF0000In Red are the teams and points that finished 2nd to bottom 112/8 = 14 points. 7 wins (as others have said) should do it, but we need to make sure that we win more than we lose at home to stand a chance.
The defensive coaching is going to be key to us staying up. Concede on average 20 points or less a game and we're top half of the table, concede less than 30 and we should scrape it, but a couple of hammerings and it becomes twitchy bum time.
As for 2014.........no side will ever be that bad or disinterested again (unless they hire a certain administrator)

| Local schools playing rugby league! Name em! There are no local schools in Ealing playing rugby league.
Closest one is Uxbridge, and they don’t have a local junior club to play at.

| Club article the other day said the community team is involved in 23 schools in Ealing. No idea to what extent, but some more than others obviously.
Schools work really depends on the aim. If it's to get kids playing RL then you can do it anywhere in London, if there's a club nearby for them to join. If it's with the aim of getting them to attend games then there's really no point going into schools in Deptford or wherever - you need to keep it local.

| The schools they are going into in Ealing is community work, certainly not playing RL. Or if they are those schools are not on the RFL national schools radar.
There are no community teams anywhere near either for the stepping stone. Broncos setting up an u13 u15 team to compete in ljl would pay off but it needs the will, and don’t think it’s there at the moment.

And?
Community work is the key. We don't care if the local schools play RL (yet), but what we do need is more locals attending games....getting kids playing the sport isn't our remit, running a self sustainable top flight professional outfit is!
As with Banks since time began, offer a student a freebie when they open an account with you and chances are they'll stick with you for life.....My sister in her 60's living in the South of France still has her Bank account in Hitchin, where she opened it in the 70's.......I still bank in the UK with Santander, because they bought Abbey who in turn bought N&P where my first ever bank account was opened for me on my christening day....get 'em young and get 'em for life.
I repeat (and there are those closer to the club that will back me up), the RL community in both schools and clubs in the region have little interest in the Broncos. We need to concentrate on the 350,000 people living in Ealing.....and IMH Professional opinion, getting local schools, scout groups, guides etc to sell out tickets for a commission is far more important to the club as a professional entity than asking kids from across London to play a game at Trailfinders and then be dragged home by their bored parents before the SL game starts......no revenue, no interest, no point!
To start with I'd be running a LOCAL inter school competition to design a new banner for the club to mark our return to SL. First prize a VIP experience for a match day with food and merchandise thrown in. If successful, then maybe another competition to design a shirt for Magic Weekend......this is community marketing, not busing kids in from essex who'll never come back

| Following on from the Cowgirls thread, why not get this institute to "represent" on match day?
[urlhttp://www.ealingstreetdance.com/[/url
They can't be any worse than some of the cheerleaders at heartland clubs....
Then talk to these guys
[urlhttps://www.londonbeerlab.com/[/url
Mondo Brewing Company
The Belleville Brewing Co.
[urlhttp://www.weirdbeardbrewco.com/[/url
AND MANY MANY MORE....
There's no such thing as a new idea in marketing......it works for puzzled locals in Toronto then why not try it out o the hipsters of Ealing? Beer Festival at at least 3 home games in the summer......
Get a resident Band to play for 2 Hours after the game and open it up to everyone. Gold Memberships etc are worth a pittance to the club in real terms, but we need to give people a reason to stay and enjoy themselves.....the atmosphere at the Stoop in the long bar room was always pretty good.
Half time activity.......employ a charismatic announcer and run the old 6 of the best thing that we did at Griffin Park.....
...all this stuff costs little if anything, but if we go down the route of announcing KO times and expecting the fans to flock to the games........well, we know how that pans out!
