Tomorrow night we enter the draw for The Challenge Cup. I feel that the competition is one we no longer take that seriously. However winning can become a habit so I cannot see any reason not to aim to go as far as we can.
We are ball number 12. To my mind a home draw would suit us, perhaps if we get a good draw, we may even be on TV.

I think the glamour of the challenge cup has been lost, I reckon it's the way they have re worked it. But it's only my opinion so hey.
But it's a competition we are in so yep let's hope for a home draw with decent opposition.

what about a derby game

I would like to draw one of the team that we have already played away, at home. Then we could judge how the heavy pitches that we have encountered, have influenced the way we have played these games.

But whoever we get a home draw, let's not have it on a freezing cold Saturday night where we collapse spectacularly in the 2nd half!

A fantastic home draw, just what I was praying for! Really, really, really looking forward to this one!!!!

Wonder how many fans they will bring? Could be a small crowd. Don't think their first competitive outing was quire the stroll in the park they expected, so expecting a decent result out of his one.

Small crowd? Skolars are building for 1,000 next Saturday. We should market the life out of this one, there is a phenomenal amount of interest in the Wolfpack and if the Broncos are serious they should have a leaflet on every seat at the Skolars for this one. A brilliant draw and should be an intriguing day.

A bit of a tester for the club here - Skolars are going all out promoting it, if the Broncos don't bother then the attendance could be embarrassing for the club.

Should be a good game though.

Let's have Guinness at half price and a Pogues tribute band playing in the bar!
Come on London, make it happen!

Brilliant idea but what about pre game irish food with Guiness and Magner Irish Cider, Baileys Irish Cream, Jamiesons Irish Whisky. Surely there is a brewery out there that could sponsor the day and have for one day only all Irish food and drink theme, maybe a bit of celebration irish dancing after the game. That should get the true fans along and maybe get the local Irish community interested in what rugby league is all about All that and the above mentioned evening should make it a great day. Get the posters on the undergrounds and train stations that lead up the Trailfinders and get flyers out etc. Hand out flyers at the game on sunday and ask people to bring friends along. I know that has been done to death almost but a special irish day with a great game should get us bringing along our irish friends and we all know at least one of them.

That very much sounds like a plan citizen!

Not sure why you say skolars have set the bar? The first professional league game for toronto is just that, it can't be repeated it was a one off.
The pull of the CC game is not the same, there is nothing g special about it. It's a championship team playing a NL1 team so what? I reckon 6 or 700 tops

A team in the league below us, with arguably a much smaller fan base managed to draw 1500 to their ground with a little bit of creativity and hard work. To be honest, they seem to be much more professional on their approach to their marketing their events, while we rely on a big gate from a larger club.

Toronto seem to be a club that is proactive and willing to work with their opponents to help create an event and a presence. I wonder if our great club will be as co-operative?

Maybe Skolars have set the bar for marketing a one off event?
As far as I'm aware Broncos are charging the usual price for a match ticket ( think it was half price for the same round last year v Fev but I'm happy to be corrected) and as for promotion I saw an A4 poster stuck to the door of the 'club shop' advertising the game.
There's a bit of time to promote the game but knowing London it's usually the Kevin Costner approach.

Unfortunately the kick off date / time will also take out a chunk of those who travel in from outside London. I'm looking at half a day off work realistically and I'm probably less than 30 miles away. Ludicrous but true given the trave scenario on Friday nights.

No complaints about the timing though. I understand there are issues and frankly a well marketed Friday night event could work in London. The well marketed bit is the key though.

You would think that some effort would be put into marketing this game. I suspect the poster on the door was it.
It will be the usual approach, wait and see who turns up.
