| If it's just an announcement to say that things are continuing as usual then they might as well not bother. The club has been in terminal decline for several years now (even worse than in previous incarnations? probably) and needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Anything else is just delaying the inevitable.
If they're going to just carry on what they've been doing then they'd be better off being honest and shut up shop, and let the RFL spend that £1.2million a year on Cumbria, Toulouse or Widnes.

Rob, however positive the announcement is I'm sure some people will still seek to "big up" the negatives over everything else.

I started watching this club in 1994, Broncos v Keighley at Hendon FC. I've seens lots of things going on since then and followed the club from one side fo the city to the other and back again. The position the club is in now isn't simply another fight against the odds, it's the culmination of a long period of complete mismanagement. Diehard fans are leaving, to be replaced by....? If there isn't root and branch reform then superficial changes will only serve to see the club exist for another franchise round before the continual exodus of dedicated fans sees it disappear completely.
That's not me lookng for negatives, it's the logical conclusion of what has happened over the last five years.

I am delighted that 2011 will see Harlequins RL in Superleague and hope the funding is in place to pick up a few decent players as well as continue the yoof development.
The "rest"? Let's hope thay kick on and really get some things in place for 2011.....I will continue to snipe and people will shout me down, but regardless of the announcement in Friday, things do need to change for the business to grow.

| Gutters, I wasn't haven't having a pop at you when I wrote that....there are posts from others who, although they purport to be QRL fans since the stone age, do nothing but find negatives whenever there is a true glimmer of a positive in the club's future being found.
Yes I agree a lot needs doing on the management and marketing front. We are not out of the woods yet with Friday's announcement but it is a start.

Some left because of the tie in with a Union brand and they are no loss.
The average gate for a london RL game since 2000 is 3,607.
The highest average in those 11 seasons was as Harlequins in 2006...the lowest was 3,232 as The Broncos in 2001.
The core support at Harlequins RL has pretty much stayed the same over the 11 years......some have drifted, some have left the country, but true fans never stop supporting their team.

| I am glad you seem to be getting it sorted out.But there must be some kind of punishment,Is it fair other teams to get points taken away but harlequins rugby league club not to ?.
Many a club including my team widnes, That have nearly gone to the wall have still had points taken away before the season starts?
One more thing now u know you should be safe,Will this ever happen again,If its been going on for several seasons what will change ?
Before u start saying im a troll,i am not, you must see how it looks from all the other clubs perspective.
Good luck friday against our old enemy warrington

| Punishment for what !!!!! ..........oh another supposed bail out from the RFL. If anyone should be penalised / punished it should be Ian Lenaghan and Wigan for breaching an agreement with the RFL. The RFL have as I understand it confiscated Lenaghan's shareholding - they have not as far as I am aware bought them or paid us humungous sums of money to keep us afloat

Punishment for what? As far as I know, the club have no overdraft, no bank loans, no money owed to anyone? Ian Lenagan and David hughes own the business (at the moment) and therefore, they "invest" money like any other business owner. They are not owed money....business owners invest....they don't loan.

In 2005 we broke no rules either....but you conspiracy theorists will never learn.

The RFL have never "bailed us out", regardless of the b0ll0x posted by trolls....as for being safe, we need to re-apply in 2011...just like everyone else so we are not "safe". We will score points for some things and lose points for others....but we needed to get rid of an owner who was breaking RFL rules by owning 2 clubs. IMO, Wigan should be punished if anyone
