Was having a troll though some aussie RL sites to see if any rumours connecting us with anyone from down under. when came acroos this thread in League Unlimited under rumoured signings in NRL. That Howell been linked with a move back to Australia involving a possible player trade. No clubs mentioned, but a couple of fans wonder if it be Panthers as hes a favourite of Elliots.

Other Club mentioned is of course Canberra,as he owns a house there. but like all rumours its just fans putting two and two together and trying to come up wth something. One fan claims he slit his wrists if Penrith sign him and some other guy called Adrian Purtell and another dont want him back at Raiders.

As dont much about any players at say these two clubs that have been mentioned and this turns out to be more then a rumour, is there anyone who you like to see in swap from either Raiders or Panthers.

I'd have Jennings.

Alan Tongue, Nigel Plum - actually most of the Raiders pack, but preferably Frank Pritchard.
A second row who could play centre.

Cant really think of an NRL side David Howell could play first grade in to be honest.

David Peachy, Colin Best, Shane Rigon etc etc. All part of a not so select brand of average/rubbish over here that go back down under and get regular game time.

We all know you live in Australia, it doesn't make you an expert on the NRL though. The only time you ever post is if someone mentions the NRL and you step in pretending you know something about it because of your geographical location. We can see through your cluelessness.. Howell could walk into any NRL side. Not that you would know as you probably haven't seen our team play since the Broncos days. Now do one.

DH mentioned that the Aussie clubs had come in for him. He also said this is unusual as the usual Aussie approach generally is when they have gone they have gone

He is Class and he is under contract. IF he was to go, Quins would need to command a hefty fee.

One of our top players. Would be difficult to replace with same quality even if we get a fee.

One of the guys who has got us a decent tally of tries and that is with the silly bu**er being suspended or injured. This is not a position we should be messing with.

I disagree... plenty of centre tallent out there in the NRL. He'd crack it a few clubs perhaps. Not any side.

I dont think he would be going back to canberra as he wasnt too happy at the end of his time there.

He would walk into a minority of NRL clubs. Otherwise, i'm open to hear you list current NRL backlines and say who he would easily replace. I'm a Raiders fan, we have a fairly middle ground backline in the NRL and he has no place at our club.

On try scoring alone in 2009 his 15 tries from 20 apps is impressive.

His ability to catch the cross kick and score in the corner is an important weapon for us. Struth, its probably the only 'move' we have

No, there's also Purdo's kick from the base of the scrum for Dorn to score from, very occasionally.

Im not really fussed what outsiders think of him....we need to hold onto him though. We're a much better side with him in it.

He may well get some game time,just dont think any NRL club would be looking at him as a first coice first grader.He hardly set the world alight when he was playing NRL previously,and centre is a position most clubs have some quality depth in.

Fair enough....but he's a much better player now than he was in the NRL a few years back, both mentally and physically.
