Presumably our dynamic duo of Chad Williamson and Luke Robinson were just nudged out by Galea and Newton for the back row berths. And surely Nanyn would have been a decent shout for centre?
Peter Gill in 1999 remains our last entry. I find it amusing that the likes of McLinden, Dymock, Moran and Barnett never made it into the dream team.
Barnett was statistically the best player in the whole competition in 2001 and received the OPTA player of the year award. McLinden was better than Wellens in 2006 in the eyes of many neutral observers.
I wonder if Simon Fitzjohn (R&T Times) gets a vote?
