The match will be on Sunday 27th September but time and venue are TBC – an announcement will be made on the website once this has been done. It will be open to spectators, however if it’s at a military venue, a guest list may be in operation requiring prior registration.

Not if its Aldershot, which is the best of the military venues and one we have used several times for the academy

Take it "on the road" or preferably "on the M4" and play it at Lyneham or Hullavington please.

I'd like to see it played at the Stoop TBH. These Aussie kids have come a long way and deserve a decent ground. The Bluddy Union lot are away in the North East on the Friday....so why not email all ST holders, everyone we have details for, get TNT involved and see if we can get a 500 or so crowd in for it?

Free admission too if it is at Aldershot Rugby Stadium, some by-law or other means you cannot be charged to enter the stadium believe it or not. The usual RAF RL venue is normally entry by prior arrangement only, the Navy one is turn up on the day but as that's down in Portsmouth I suspect it's a bit too far out of London.

There's a link or two between the Quins (both RL and Union) and the Aldershot military bods so if it does go military, and the rugby stadium is free that day, I reckon that's the most likely.

They also use the military stadium at Chatham where the Dragons club play out of.

Local youngsters will get the chance to add an international fixture to their bow this weekend when the London and South U16's take on a touring Australian high school side.
A team from Mackay High State School in Queensland, Australia have travelled to the UK to embark upon a 17 day rugby league tour.
This sunday (27th Sept) they face the London and South U16's, featuring players from the Harlequins Rugby League academy, at the ground of Elmbridge Eagles RLFC, Claygate, Surrey - kick off 3pm.

All are welcome to come and cheer on the teams plus there'll be a bar and food available.

Yes. Let's get the over stretched marketing department off their arsés and get a game set up at the Stoop. Get them then to spend valuable man hours over a game of school kids from a town in far north queensland playing an English team. They may even get a chance to do so if they stopped reading all the emails you send them

Roosty-Is this school a renowned RL hot bed and if so what players have come out of there.

Its a nice day so I will pop down to take a look- I suspect a number of the London team will be on Quins books

The Aus school won by approx 6 tries to one-Not very accurate I admit but it gives you the general picture.

The Aussies had a player playing who must have been 17 stone and had a full beard and Mr T haircut!!! School kid-yeah

It is indeed. As in they are one of the top 10 RL schools in Australia. It's a Sports High School. Yes they have them over here!!!


Not overly familiar with QLD schools RL but would hazard a guess that they would have produced a few players who'd have kicked on to first grade over the years.

And not to mention the short ,fatty kid who looked like "Butterbean " the USA boxer...He was that rotund he looked like he,d been hit by a lift...It was only his belly that kept him onside once or twice.....
