Oliver Wilkes to be announced tomorrow!

From what I saw of the several games he played he looked pretty solid. A bit of pace in the back row is something we did not have at the start of 09.

At 23 he seems a bit of a late bloomer, but I reckon there is enough there to say he can compete for a place in the match day squad for 2010.

He is English, he is young, he seems to have a good attitude and he is making the big move south at a relatively young age in order to pursue first team football.

Pretty good signing.

No complaints from me about Esders, or Wilkes if confirmed.

I suspect one day we will have 13 back row plodders.

I think we made a mistake paying Luke Williamson a hefty salary. Better to release him and go looking for better value for money from a big signing. I don't think getting Esders and Wilkes in is worth it - go for one decent player rather than two borderline SL/Co-op players. And if we can't get a decent signing, promote from within and save the £££. We waste too much money on tried and failed 'projects' like Nanyn, Gardner etc. If we want to sign 'projects' they should be teenagers.

From what i saw he at least he tried when on the pitch. Also HullKR fans wish him well and shame he had to leave,which TBH makes a chance, most the time all you here is "glad to see back of him"

Dont know if heard Mac right on Rammo's show last night, but did he say when asked by Rammo that we are bringing in two more props and a outside back, or did he say hes hoping too or looking for.
If its bringing in then thats what we have been asking for all the long here. but like so many have said will all depend on who and just how good they are.

Interesting - who do we know about that is out of contract. Also to quote Mac from the website "The signing of Esders marks the second stage of McDermott’s squad building for 2010. Earlier this year several key players including captain, Rob Purdham, Chad Randall and Danny Orr signed contract extensions and now the focus is on recruiting.
