I for one don't think this would be a good signing. I think this would be a terrible signing who would add absolutely nothing to the squad or advance us forward over this years effort.

Hopefully he stays in Hull. He may work hard, he may play with plenty of determination commitment, but we need players with guile, skill and craft (i.e. not Richard Whiting).

From what I've seen of him, he has more skills than many of our present squad but he's injury-prone and slow.

his biggest weakness is his lack of pace when he plays at centre, but play him elsewhere and he's a good player.

I would be disappointed if we signed a player who seems to be blighted with injuries. Let's face it he is a crock and for all his talents his injury problems seem to have affected his mobility.

A broken leg and a broken arm in the same season where his main injuries - cant say that makes him injury prone really apart from a couple of niggles this year.

He's had a succession of smaller injuries over the past four years.

He's not a player I rate in Super League and I believe his gangly build will always lead to injuries in this competition.

He would be a another Mick Nanyn, Jon Grayshon or Dwayne Barker; someone that no-one else wants but will come down and fight for a place.

IMO, he is a class apart from them.

For me, Whiting is an unsung hero of SL. He is consistent, committed and largely unnoticed. I think Hull fans would agree that he makes a real difference when he plays without being obvious.

Would be a great signing for you, his biggest problem is finding a position, for me he would be best at LF, but also fits in well at 6, centre and now even FB.

Reads the game very well, creative and fantasic defence.

As others have said he lacks pace but makes up for it with his brain.

According to FevRover (who I believe is a close frind of Richs) he is about to sign a new contract with Hull though.

As mentioned before, can be skilful but is too slow, certainly too slow to play in the centres any more.
