Bus trip went well (ish). Broken DVD player and an unclean bus were the downside, but the fact that it was full and Wakey fans said it was the biggest "London" contingent they could remember are plusses.

Our reserves are playing really well atm, spanking top of the table wigan last week, theres a few very nice prospects at wakefield, and we are challanging for the reserves title. so certainly no disgrace in the score-line.

Sadly the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game. There was no score until midway through the first half, when Wakey took the lead. A Gigot try + conversion levelled it, but Wakey totally dominated the middle part of the game with our only further score a late consolation. Obst was a big influence for the home team, but we looked disappointingly lacklustre and very much second best all round against opponents who had been bottom of the table going into this match.

I like the look of Gigot though. Definitely a potential first teamer.

In comparison to Wigan reserves they are all poor. WE beat a good Quins reserves on Saturday but had 6 squad players in so not too unexpected really. The academy will go top this week with a game in hand if they beat Hudds.

A Paddock Jolly Boy's Beano to Bradford would be fun Gutters, but I may be up there for the whole weekend, as Donny races is on.

Strange how Catalans only became interested after he agreed to come to London. Even stranger is the fact Catalans have also developed an interest in another player the club is monitoring at a French club, after discovering Quins interest.

No, Catalan's were involved in sending him over to Quins so they'd have a better idea of whether he was physically up to it. There's only a slim chance of Gigot staying, his girlfriend is French and his English is terrible. It's a pity because he's well thought of at the club, but expect him to go back to France after this season.

Utter rubbish. As one of the people involved in the arrangements between Quins & his French club for this scheme on junior players, I know the full extent of the involvement of the Dragons. Dragons would have sent him to UTC & monitored him there. He will be going back to France at the end of the season, this was always the arrangement & his club expect him back to play for them in LER (but would be happy to lose him to us if he was signed to play in SL). As you know so much about this arrangement, I'm sure you can name the other people involved, 1 at Quins & 1 at his French side ? Your in depth knowledge will also be able to tell us why the second French player from 2008 hasn't come back for 2009 (& you can name him) ?

Not a notion mate, never said I knew anything about the other arrangement or the people involved in it, and I'm not getting into a game of "I know this person better than you do", I will say it's likely that I'm more familiar with Gigot and his situation than you are, and can all but guarantee you Quin's won't take him next year for reason's I'm confident you don't know, and of course Frenchie won't stay anyway.

I know how the Catalans developed an interest in Tony, can you name the person on the Catalans board who made them aware of Quins interest ?

Mate, I m not involved in the transfer, so as I've said already I don't know the people behind it or whatever.

I'm guessing since you're being so competitive on this that you know more than me about the manner of the deal. Happy enough? Don't understand why you're being such an on a 'Quins forum, since I'm assuming we're all supporters of the same club.


But if anyone else is interested, Gigot won't be staying at Quins and I'd put my mortgage on it. He can't string sentences together in English, he missed a couple of days training last week because his missus was going home and there's another reason two which I won't post.

Because you stated the Dragons sent him here. One of the reasons he is here is his club want to show him & other players there is RL life away from the Dragons (same as the RCCC players at Leeds). Tony is not contracted to Quins, he is merely there on loan, he is contracted to Sporting Olympique Avignon. Catalans became interested after one of their directors was told by his brother (a director at SOA) about Tony coming to Quins. Even if Tony does sign for Quins, I gain nothing from any deal apart from the thanks from SOA for setting things in motion. The idea is to make this a long term arrangement between the 2 clubs with the chance for Quins players to spend time at SOA in the future.
