| Yep, I'm with UTS on this.
I understand that it costs a lot of money to open the LV stand but if we can move back there and economize by not having the bar open, so be it.
As for the usual Sats v Suns debate, travelling by public transport on Sundays is a mare, as there are so many line closures for maintenance.

| LV Home fans as stated before
East stand away fans and any quins fans that want a seat in the Sun.
North stand community stand for local schools colleges and Universities.
If club really want to be adventurous anyone local can turn up with a Utility bill and sit in the North/south/east stands for a £5. Bet the club would really increase its sales throughout the stadium drinks/food/club shop.(sorry for nicking Your utility bill idea Gutters but great idea.)

Debating this is like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. It fails to address the real problem.
-Having said that (I'm prepared to turn up anyday, even Thursday evening) I feel Saturday's are clearly best for two reasons:
[1 It is more attractive for away fans (who we do have to care about, because when we get a big gate it is normally swelled by a big away support).
[2 People stay longer on the day, spend more in the bar etc. - so more revenue opportunities.'"
I agree changing the day again is not the answer. However, I think the club can do more to capitalise on other big sporting events on that day. Get the big screens in, create a sports bar atmosphere even get a bookies set up.

| Quote ="Dave Lister"I know this has been done to death in the past but why do people keep pretending that this is a factor? Its a load of rubbish, they didn't come and they won't come, simple as that.
And adjusting our kick off times for half hearted supporters such as Chris Brown is a joke. Start with keeping your CURRENT fan base happy rather than alienating them in the hope of attracting a few soccer fans. The world doesn't revolve around football - there are thousands of other sports fans who have no interest in football so why we have to panda to a minoirty who choose football over RL is beyond me. No other teams do it so I don't know why we should start.'"
Spot on Dave. No need to change anything at all because the current strategy has got them piling in
As I have always said nothing should be changed for the likes of me who are indeed half hearted supporters. I wasn't, I never missed a home game and went to a fair sprinkling of away ones too but at the end of the day its MY choice not to go
Having said that, surely even you have to accept that the current position is not acceptable and something has to be done. The club cannot continue to try gimmicks to get people along and still only muster 3000 people, SOMETHING has to change, maybe its the kick off time, maybe not but doing nothing is the only answer which is unacceptable

Where have I heard that sentiment before
Sorry, but next year, there needs to be a major campaign all season long, but especially over the first 6 home games of the season. Planning for this should have begun already....but somehow, I doubt it has.

Where have you got 60 students from? How about 60 Adult tickets which is the same? No idea why you chose to bring that one up

| I'm a season ticket holder so here are my views.
I do not care which stand I sit in. This does not influence my decision to come and watch the team. I can sit in a seat and I can watch the game with a good view. There is no difference between the 2 stands with regards to this so the club can do whatever makes most economic sense. Fill one stand before filling up another.
This better atmosphere thing makes me laugh. Please explain why there will be a better atmosphere in the LV stand. You got your L+L thing sorted but created nothing. I suppose its the stands fault?
I also do not care which bars are open. I do not particularly care where the away supporters sit within reason.
My main concern at the moment is on the pitch as we can open whichever stand we like and play on any day of the week but without a decent team it will all be in vain. That needs sorting out first and I would rather finances are directed towards the team rather than spending money opening stands because people cry about the inferior views in the East Stand.

It does, but it has nothing to do with the day we play on, the stand people sit in or the levels of stewarding.

Just chose a ST at the other end of the cost spectrum. An adult ST is not the same as a Gold ST by the way and the entire point was why should we lose any fans when we can't afford to.
I am with you on the Stand thingy...I would sit in the rubble of the South Building site, but the club need to sort out where people sit. They have had 4 years to get it right.......and even that is beyond them.
As for on the pitch.......you know my stance on this. More fans = More revenue = better players.
If you get your the order wrong, you go bust!

I know, and I was pointing out that there should be no reason why the views of Gold Season ticket holders should be held in higher regard than regular Adult supporters. Its made out like they are major investors in the club or something. We have plenty of Adult supporters who pay plenty of money for season tickets too.

And conversely, better performance = more fans = more revenue. Worse performance = fewer fans = disaster.

Challenge Cup final and 2 play-off places haven't exactly helped us have they?
It is the chicken and egg scenario.......and I for one would like to see crowds grow and mid table finishes, rather than a top 5 finish and 3,500 fans.

Sneaking into the final play off place hardly proves better performance. Clutching at straws there me thinks Inconsistency throughout the season and seasonal humiliations do not help matters.
I would love to see crowds grow and would be happy with midtable performances if they did, but I can't see crowds rising on the back of it. If we got into the position of turning decent clubs over on a regular basis it would be something to work with - come and watch us, we just turned over the current SL champions. Works a bit better than come and watch us, we turned over the current SL champions but more recently lost 6 out of 7 games including getting tonked by teams below us in the ladder.

er...we have beaten the SL champs on more than 1 occasion and it didn't boost our numbers. All of that means we cannot sustain the interest of people who want to see more than that which we are capable of.
I don't want us to get in the 8 I don't even want us to beat Salford because all that does is raise fresh false hopes about us.
