Delighted tonight. I've just got home. Delighted for the players, who never gave up, the fans who turned out in good numbers but mostly for Mr Eccles and his team who have kept the club alive
Big old side Fev but they lacked a bit of flair. We gifted them two tries but we’re more than a match for them. Good aggressive performance. Walker is back to near his best. Worthington is a real asset and takes some of the pressure off Bienek to do the barnstorming runs which lift the crowd. I think our loanees have been very good in particular Thewlis is a good player and Kerr who we’ve just got from Wigan was really busy. I think Davies and Posselli did a good job and O Bearne is an important player for us. His kicking is a little inconsistent but he’s involved in most things….and then there is Tindall. He didn’t see a massive amount of the ball but he has real pace which we’ve been missing for a few seasons.he’s going to be good for us. If we can keep relatively injury free it looks like Eccles has pulled off a magic trick here. I hope we give it a go in the 1895. because we could be in with a shout for a trip to Wembley.

Fans were good. Fev we’re surprisingly quiet. They usually come in good numbers and make a racket. This time they were subdued and then Chirped up when they got the intercept try which, whilst understandable, was a little embarrassing.
What a great way to start the season at home. I expected more from Fev, we did help them with the two errors which gave them both tries. But the team stuck to the task and victory was ours.
Thought it was a really enjoyable game and the team are to be congratulated on the performance.

Actually I’d caveat this by saying I’m not a massive fan of calling the ref a cheat. Did he make some mistakes. I’m sure he did but he gave it a go and it lacks a bit of class to put the boot right in.
