Seems that Ian has passed away, a great shame - a true icon and hero for our early days and a really nice guy. RIP.

He most certainly was one of the good guys. Chatted to him a few times that 1st season in some dodgy northern towns after games.
Might not have had the speed but you didn't often stop him close to the line. In those days of course Props actually pushed in the scrums.
