No matter how well Brierley and Gaskell play together, Brierley will be dropped the week after for Brough. Same with Ormsby if Murphy is fit next week.

Im happy Brough and Murphy miss out this week.

Murphy has been garbage this season so far and we need to see how we play without Brough.

Cant see us getting anything out of the game but makes it more interesting now with Brough missing just to see how we go.

Capable of being a good game. If this season has anything to go by then we will probably try slow Cas down, stop there entertaining tactics by lying on for dear life.
If the ref wants to slow things down, then we have a chance.

Here is a thought.. WE could try throw it about and score some trys. Meet fire with fire. It could work.. at worst we will lose but our fans will walk away feeling like we've tried to entertain.

I would play Murphy in the centre this week and Gene on the wing. Nothing against Mellor though. Just feel we need to try something a little different.

Season is already gone, It has never been about more than survival this year, So I agree why not try and play some Football that may bring in some Fans.

I don't think our season is quite gone yet. You never know what will happen when we get our full team back. Cup glory? Top 8? Could create a great vibe around the club for next season... if we show some fight. Grabbing an 8th spot will feel like a huge step in the right direction and something to build on.
Cup success is abit of a dream but it's only 6? One off games.

Its also a few one off game for us to get turned over by a championship outfit

we need to play a hell of a lot better than we have to get to 8th spot . Look like rabbits in the spot light at times . the thing i wont to see with stone is some line speed and a bit of get up and go

The thing I want to see from stone.....is any improvement in any area - as in some respects (defence) we've seemingly gone backwards-

We will be fighting it out for the wooden spoon with Widnes this year, who are equally poor. As for defence, i think to save time it would be better to award the opposition a try as soon as they get into our 20 as we have utterly no idea how to defend it.

We've improved in regards to fitness & squad depth (not the same as strength) but beyond that I'm not even sure we've maintained let alone improved.

Having said that, to be fair to RS, he has always said he's working on a long term solution but I'm pretty sure even he didn't expect the performances to date.

The thing I want to see from Stone is the back of him, he's absolutely clueless in every aspect of the game. I've got a budget flight ticket to Australia and it's got Richard Stone written all over it.

Too many players not doing anywhere near enough, whether that is through personal effort or they are simply not good enough for this level only the players themselves will know.

What i will say is that Castleford are a bloody damn good team and i can't see anyone being anywhere near them if they keep this up, any other day apart from against my own team and it would have been a joy to watch that, saying that our defence was like the proverbial butter to their hot knife most times.

Think we need to 'do a Hull' and let the players be honest with each other because some of ours are letting this club down badly at the moment, i get told off for being too positive at times but even i'm having to think hard for some these days.

Not just Brough and Murphy that was the problem then. I thought it was Brough who had been Crap all season who had been costing us games, and Murphy who is supposed to be well past it.

Some of the defence up the middle was embarrassing too. Add to that we can't play structure,so fair to say we are in a whole load of Tom Tit just now.

Started off okay, forced a few mistakes,even took the lead. Then normal service was resumed.

Well, as I posted a few days ago, I expected a lot closer game. The worrying thing would be for me, if I was a Giants fan, that we were very scrappy at times and were frustrating to watch at times. Taking Salford out of the equation its the worst we have been so far this season, especially at home. I felt for McGilvary, he put more effort in on his own than most of the rest put together and ran the ball back with real intent. I'd love to see him in a Cas shirt being given the service that our wingers get. Whats happened to Cudjoe? He didn't look interested.

Normally has a stinker against Shenton.

Three of those players failed to perform last year at the Bulls and look what happened to them. Players who think they are better than they are. Sign championship players and that is whet you will get. The game in this country is so weak up against the NRL that players like these manage to build up a good reputation in a pool of average players.
