Interesting that AK's first decision was making Danny captain again last night and watching him with the players behind the line coaxing and cajoling it seems to fit how we didn't capitulate last night when Salford came back.

There looked to be a real passion and dig in mentality in the tough times last night that I haven't seen for a while.

We almost did though, they scored twice in the last 5mins. We switched off, fortunately we had one more point on the board. Hinchcliffe was injured, so brough was the next logical choice for this game. We certainly seemed to have better game management safe for the last 10. You know we better against stains at magic and wire at home. None of us have any idea what's fully gone between coach and players, only the tittle tattle we hear, let's not pretend everything will fall into place now and we all knew what was wrong, because if we did we be doing the job. Not meant as a dig by the way.

We messed up big time yesterday. If it was a 85 minute match we probably would of lost!
How will Hinchcliffe take it if he's lost his captaincy perminantly This season?

Danny is our natural talisman.

He needs to be our captain.

Finally!! FINALLY!! Our real captain and leader is back. Certainly not the reason we are where we are this year,but the decision and secrecy, not to mention silly rumours around it due to lack of reasoning from anyone at the club, have not helped the team. We had unrest pre-season with the Ferres affair, so a switch of leaders in the team wasn't exactly a master stroke (Let's not forget Ferres was vice captain also!)

Hinchcliffe has improved week on week,no doubt, but I can't say I'm overly fussed what he thinks of it if he doesn't get the job back. In fact, I hope he doesn't get it back. The captain should have connection and history at a club, lead with heart as well as head, hinchcliffe had the 'armband' not long after he got off his flight!!

Isn't it funny how people view things. Fullback seems to have been a poisoned chalice since the days post Paul Reilly. Thorman went from hero to zero very quickly- and Brett Hodgson was a scapegoat too at times towards the end of his time at the Giants. I remember him getting particularly "upset" at a group of fans during one game (crusaders?) when some fans were giving him stick- he had been called a few times that season by some I recall.

Brett Hodgsons troubles started when we played Warrington in the cup after it was announced he had signed a two year contract with them.

He had a stinker that day and we got hammered and if you make signs behind your back when Wire fans sang 'Brett Hodgsons a Wire' you surely don't expect the fans not to react in some way bearing in mind he was our star man at the time.

Never could quite make out which of the rumours that did the rounds at the time was true.

It's one of the reasons you would question him returning in a coaching roll !!

My opinion of Hodgson was that he was very professional.
Don't think the announcement of him leaving would of put his efforts to one side.
Think if he'd of stayed on for a couple more years we'd have been very close to winning something.

We offered Hodgson 1 year, Wire 2

At the time our 1 year looked the right option given he hardly played year 2

But I agree if he'd stayed a year we might have won things

He didn't play every game year one either- and grix had a fantastic year winning supporters player of the year

oh how fickle some are.
