Dreadful game, never got going.

And also a shocking decision by the ref on the NFL screen pass by Scott Grix for the try.

But on the positive a great gritty win and some luck at last. Should get 4th now.

My only changes for next week would be drop Grixy and rest Robbo.

Hard to tell how individual performances went in a strange game.

Team next week does not really matter. However I filly expect the same 17 for the play off games to follow.

Next week means the difference between 4th and 5th

4 th is important as we get an extra home fixture which helps financially and on the pitch

It doesn't matter in that whichever of the squad we play we should still be capable of beating Wakefield. Personally I would pick the same17.

I would like to see Simpson and Leeming back in the 17. Didn't really notice Wood today, or was it because there was so much going on elsewhere and usually off the ball.

Any win in France is a big win, not many go there and win, only the 2nd time we have won there too.

Awful game to watch but a win over there doesn't happen to anybody very often so very happy.
We also never let Catalan, get a quick play of the ball. The game was in slow motion, very got going and was hard to watch.

Will brough get a ban regarding next weeks team selection?

Awful game in what must have been very difficult conditions. Very pleasing two points in view of the fact Catalan set their stall out to wind the Giants ( particularly Brough ) up from the start. Even better we got a try from a pass a mile forward.

Not the best game from Wardle by his standards, instrumental in both their try's, and well done to Hughes for a great chase on Escare. Only Leeds and us had the spoils there this season, so well done. Come on Wakey.

People need to either 1) have their eyes tested.

or 2) Learn the laws of physics because I'd love to know how a player can pass a ball to aonother player that is 3 yards behind them, who catches the ball still 3 yards behind them, in a forward direction.

Had you been drinking before the game? Grix passes near to 20 metre line. His hand are in a forward direction. Mcgillivary stretching takes the ball at least 3 metres in front of the 20 metre line,

Nol he doesn't. Grix is over the 10 metre line. He quite clearly throws it backward His hads aren't facing forward. It travels about 1 metre forward but Mcgillevary is still behind Grix when he catches it. Watch the video, it isn't a forward pass. Mcgillevary isn't stretching, the ball lands in his bread basket. When Mcgillevary catches the ball Grix has moved about 7 yards forward. The ball actually moves backward relative to Grix it is a perfect pass between two players moving in a forward direction. The ball arcs through the air because Grix spins it as he throws it.

It was bad enough condition wise in the stand so god knows how the players must have felt but I will give all 17 of them credit for not buckling in the heat and seeing the game out .... Catalans have everything in their favour at home but we stood up to them and the conditions very well !!
Massive shout out to the fans too who never stopped singing and dancing all game.

Must also say I thought Scott Grix stepped up to the plate very well when broughy was sin binned and showed he can still be useful for us in attack !!.

Hard to criticise any individual in that heat I think !

The catalan chairman is having a good old rant

That's because like many other people- including players- he does not understand the forward pass rule and think it has something to do with the ball travelling forward in relation to the ground- which it hasn't - as the ball will always do that if the player throwing it is running forward at pace.
You can see from my stills that the TJ was in the perfect position to see and was looking at whether grixs passing motion was forward or backwards-

Why would the coach drop Scott Grix. Thought he had a good game and provided the match winning pass to Mcgilvary.
A great win given the conditions and every player played his part.

For the trip to France, and knowing how the Cats would play, it was a good decision to bring in the 'Old Hands' as the professionalism of the Catalans was known - lying on, head shots, late tackles etc - and therefore keeping the young ones out of this game was a Great call
However going forward the Young Guns are the ones who will take us to greater heights.
Great calls from the Coach who fully understands what we need to do to get to the Top.
Total faith in Baloo and his team.
We are in a good place and can look forward to better times going forward in the Comp.
