| Unsettled at Salford. Koukash wants big money for him, but it must surely be part of his media rant. Apparently St Helens and Catalans in for him, but I remember we were interested a while back.
Could we make the move? Imo he is a perfect option for us. Wood and Leeming share hooking duties. Ellis and Robbo are contracted, but if we don't act are we going to fall behind sticking with players that aren't currently doing the job for the next 2 years...?

| Eloi Pelissier could be an option, 23 year old player who is currently unhappy and looking to leave Catalans. Best stats in the league for a hooker this season relative to minutes played.

Would love to see Eloi join the Giants - really rate him and feel he goes unrecognised by Sky commentators - would be a great addition to the squad. Always enjoy watching him play and a real dangerous runner and has a good scoot from dummy half. As for Fages he will go to Catalans as he is from Perpignan originally.

| Thought he had just signed a contract extension with Catalans?
Great player Eloi, would love to have him and Fages. Can't see it with the current players and the contracts they have.

My instant thought when I heard Fages was looking to move was that the club should look to get him.
Superb player. Not worth the £700k that idiot Koukash is after to get him now. I suggest signing him for nothing next year!

| We need another half! Unfortunately the Ellis plan hasn't worked yet and Kyle wood is good but not at a point where he could run the show. We need two halves that work together but if required could take the lead.
Fages is a good player but competition will be high for him.
How about sammut? He looked great in a so so crusaders side and ripped us apart when playing for Bradford. If he was willing to put in the graft he could be the extra bit we need in attacking flair

| Can't imagine him commanding a massive wage at least initially. Although with Ellis, wood, brough another half would be too much so someone would have to go. Can see Ellis been given another shot

| I've thought and suggested Sammut before as he's always impressed me but it was always shot down as he can't even get into the Wakefield team, which i accept but maybe it's one of those situations where a player may just need to find a club he feels settled at .
Certainly wouldn't hurt to maybe have a look at him if we feel the Wood/Ellis pairing aren't helping Broughy etc.

| I agree ive also suggested sammut. Brough is a playmaker who makes things happen for others. Sammut is a ball runner and off the cuff player. Whether brough could play with sammut is another story...

| I think broughs roll in the team has evolved. When he first partnered brown, brough was the off the cuff and brown the structure. Now brough is more to the structure with flashes of off the cuff! With sammut I believe he could be the flair we need injecting himself to pull off something special whole brough can command the team around and come in for the occasional special play

| As much as brough controls our game and directs it, I do feel he is being overburdened, when we had Brown these two complemented each other rather well like others have noted. But it seems that no matter who we partner with him, he still seems to take the lions share of the duties I.e kicking and plays. Now is this the team not having faith in the other half back, or is the other half back no vocal enough calling for the ball. We know everything goes through Brough, but so do other teams and it's making us a dull side to watch when broughy's threat gets nullified. Wood at time when he's taken control has look threatening, especially when taking the line on. Trouble is that he doesn't do it often enough, Same with Ellis

| I agree that we may be short of a top class half but to suggest this might be Sammut is crazy. How someone who doesn't get into the Wakey side is going to improve the Giants is beyond me. He goes missing in games and is woeful in defence. He has also played nearly all his games for Bradford and Wakey at fullback.

100% agree. If we are thinking in terms of this standard , then no wonder we are not in favour of Marque players. We have any amount of players of this standard, why in the world would we want to consider adding to them.
If we can't afford the quality half back we have been desperate for for the last decade, so be it , but don't bring in more of what we have already. Like you I can't believe how low some peoples sights are set.

| To me sammut isnt the same kind of player as Ellis and wood. Sammut is a creative running half - not an organiser or distributer

ellis took his chance today against warrington! great touch line conversion and two drop goals.
