seen as though we are having to wait at least another year to grace the final again, i was thinking the other day about all the games i'd seen fartown play in the cup over the years and thinking what was my favourite one, i couldn't decide so narrowed it down to 5 of the best cup moments..

just wondered what yours were and how many would be the same??

in no particular order

1995 run to the quarters,shocking the first division leaders at the time, halifax going 36-10 (i think? ) up before a late rally brought it back to 36-30, then smashing keighley 30-0 at their place, something that not even wigan would have contemplated in those days!, then taking 3/4000 to oldham for the quarter final which we narrowly lost

stephen wild's try at warrington that confirmed we were going to wembley, i still get a shiver down my spine when i think of that moment!

2006 semi v leeds, we had no chance did we? even leeds fans gave it a miss in order to save for the final, we turned in one of the greatest performances i've ever seen to smash them and get to our first final for 44 years!

seeing the team walking out at twickenham, ok it wasn't wembley but to be living a dream that i'd had for 20 years, something even the most ardent fartown fan would have thought impossible...to see fartown in a cup final, to sing abide with me knowing that a team in claret and gold were about to enter the field to play in a cup final

2004 semi final v saints, i never ever thought i would see us in a cup semi final, even though we were totally outclasses on the day it was the start of the revival that would see us get to 2 finals in the next 5 years!

and i still can't pick my favourite!

2009 over saints was good but 2006 semi at odsal is my favourite We were massive underdogs with everyone having written us off. Sinfields face was a picture!!!!
Also a shout out to the win over bradford that got us into the quarter finals- first time we'd beaten Bradford in the modern era!

Definitely the 1995 win over Keighley for me, think it was their 1st defeat at home for 16 months or something like that, we tore them to pieces that day and they had no answer to us....absolutely fantastic day on and off the pitch !!

Might be memory playing tricks but I thought we beat York in the quarters?

This is a different year - the game that got us into the quarters which we lost to salford. It was the first time we'd beaten bradford in forever.

i can't recall us beating bradford in the cup jools?
i remember we beat them in league for the first time in ages but not the cup.

just looked, 2007, we beat them 36-12 in the league and then lost 52-20 to them in the cup a few weeks later, is that what your thinking?

Loved the whole day out/weekend trip to wembley for the final, apart from the result!

semi final wins to get us to the finals were also great days

Easy one for me.

Odsal, beating Leeds.

Both finals, except the results. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think we'd get even close to one. And the 30-0 at Keighley - on the pitch at full time, when people just went on to celebrate not cause trouble. It was Brilliant.
Missed the Odsal semi due to holiday.

Best one for me, Wakefield Trinity 12 Huddersfield 6 Wembley 1962.

It was better the week after, we won!!!!

Must be my mind playing tricks! Could have sworn it was a cup game- I remember celebrating like it was!!!!

that league game was a friday night and it hammered it down jools! and yes we did celebrate wildly, i think the club even produced t-shirts to celebrate the seismic shift in power that was about to happen

some folks taking their shirts off and dancing around in the rain!
