The worrying thing to me is how often our pack wilt when the going gets a bit tough !!

The tackling yesterday was abysmal Salford were up for it and had a bit of pace in their side we brought nothing to the table yesterday and yes this has been coming although I expected us to 'muller' someone at some point but was always mindful that it could end up the other way !!

But to turn up yesterday and produce the 'Dross' that we did seriously questions any end of season run in fact it felt more like the Nathan Brown days expectations dashed !!!!

Salford read the how to beat Huddersfield game plan it's not the first time this season we have capitulated in the face of a bit of aggression on the few times we muscled up they struggled to get 30 yards from their posts but then we stopped putting in the effort.

To allow them to double the score with only 12 men was awful and the lack of effort when they should have been fired up with what had happened leads one to the conclusion that this side has something missing and will come up short again this season !!!!

Time to make sure we recruit some 'mongrel' for next season since LOD went it's been missing because a tame play off exit is on the horizon and if we turn up at Cas on Friday and play like this again we will ship 50pts.

It's reality time I don't want Anderson sacked but Josh Johnson was out of his league yesterday I have no doubt he will improve but we need some go forward and reaction when the other team gets in our face and it ain't happening !!

Time for 3/4 changes for next week and smart recruitment for next year as on today's performance and most of this season we will be in the bottom group next year as our ship appears to be heading towards the iceberg and the captain hasn't realised it.

This is a big week for Paul Anderson as a mauling at Castleford on Friday could effectively be terminal for what's left of our team spirit.

Can't call josh, we moan the youngsters don't get a chance-well they are never going to be SL standard if the don't play SL rugby. Batley for a few weeks isn't the same. Have to get them out there or they never will.

Very harsh on Josh - one bad game, where all 17 were poor, doesn't mean he's not up to standard. If the senior players set the example they did yesterday of course it's going to be tough for him. That sort of experience is exactly what will help to build him.
Our priority does have to be the get some aggression (I'm not talking dirtiness) into that pack, though. I was embarrassed at the way we failed to respond to some of the cheap shots that went on in the game yesterday.

A lot of heart, a lot of conviction and a bit of determination and fight is what is required. Things that seem lacking of late from my view.

You're spot on about O'Donnell. We've missed him badly. Spot on about the mongrel as well. Salford came yesterday to beat us up, knowing that none of our players would step up to it. Harris admitted that in the press conference.

But when you say we need to recruit some mongrel, then where will it come from? We're still suffering the aftermath of Nathan Brown's failed gamble on a light and mobile pack which is why we signed up every prop we could find at the start of last season, even trying to squeeze another few years out of Fielden and we took on Kaufusi when everyone said, rightly as it's turned out, that his attitude was shot.

On top of that, due to the mismanagement of Keith Mason, we're short on the salary cap for another few years.

Props are so important in the modern game, and they don't grow on trees. They're hard to find, they cost money and we have screwed up our recruitment and retention of them over the last few years.

Can't attack JJ really, young lad learning his trade and was part of a woeful 1-17 team performance, He's stood out in other games ahead of the so called 'bigger names' too so he is up to this standard in my opinion. Problem is Crabtree, Koppy, etc aren't doing much either which has a massive bearing on the team.

Confidence must be pretty low cos even though we have ben winning we haven't been playing well, the players know this and the Coaches do too.....the question is how do we get it back ?

What I would give for Mason, Griffin and O'Donnell types in our pack !!!!

I'd get kaufusi and mullally in on Friday- they have a point to prove and we need our forwards to effort up - dropping a couple might do that. Kopczak played well against KR then went back to the lazy prop we've seen for the majority of the season. Kaufusi and mullally have nailed their claret and gold colours to the mast and made it clear where they want to be playing!

agree with that Mullally did nowt wrong when he came into the side before, foos hasn't been given enough chance for me but i thought when him and fooey were the bench props earlier in the season they made a difference when they came on.
