What do you expect to be your starting 17 for this game? Seems like you've got some competition for places, do you expect it to be similar to how you finished last year or will the new signings be straight in the first team?

expect kaufusi and bailey to be in. Plenty of competition in the 2nd row though hard to pick between chan/ferres/taai/lawrence/bailey

I agree expect Kaufusi and Bailey to be in. I think Ta'ai is unlikey to play having been delayed in NZ with the arrival of his little un. So from the Wire play off expect Kaufusi and Bailey instead of Ta'ai and Ferguson in the pack.

Backs same as last year or does Broughton come in? That is a hard call with no friendlies to judge from to date. I think Broughton has been bought to play, but Baloo is a fair man so Jodie may have to wait a little.

Only other question is fitness of Lunt, in if he is ready, but with two weeks to the next game no risks will be taken. Lunty is our best hooker by a mile but I expect Fooey to start v Wigan with Kyle Wood off the bench. It could though easily be Robbo at Hooker, Wood at 7 and Fooey off the bench.

That is a very decent team with a strong bench and we still have Broughton, Lunt, Ta'ai, Mullally, Connor and Fairbank to come in. I think 3 of them would get into our best 17 if all on form.

looks fine to me, think lunt will play though. Anderson seemed to say that if not against hull kr then he will play at wigan

Think I'd go with that, Murphy's defence could be an important factor and would give him the nod over Broughton.

Looks like Charnley will be missing but the boy Burgess has been getting rave reviews in pre-season and would not be surprised if he takes the shirt vacated by Richards and has a good season (though obviously a quiet game on Friday would be nice).

Patrick had a wow of a game there 2 years back and needs something to kick himself back into gear or could end up on the sidelines for alot of the season.

I can't see Broughton not being in the 17. Anderson was very complimentary of his work rate and speed at the Forum. He'll make a great target for Broughs deft kicking.

Sounds as if Wigan aren't opening the away end- so another farce with seating arrangements could be on the cards.

Is this confirmed as the RFL WC offer was for the North Stand (away end).

Which tickets are the Giants selling as if they are reserved seats in a single block of the side stand I can see no problem with that but if they are unreserved for the North Stand but for use in the reserved seats East Stand then it won't work.

Would you replace Murphy with him as broughton has said he prefers the left? For me Murphy did very little wrong last year, defensively sound and wasng he top try scorer with 20?! Also can cover full back if required! For me his place to lose.
Also playing a very good Wigan side I wouldn't want to have a third winger on the bench against a very physical side like Wigan!

Agreed there might be scope to switch wingers in other games but for this one we need to go for the jugular and hope their minds wander towards Oz rather than the task in hand and leaving us exposed to early knocks up front will not help the cause.

i think lawrence is a waste on the bench, you either play him 80mins and use him for the tackling machine he is or not at all as he makes no impact from the bench, much rather see taai from the bench for impact.

agree with espanyolswan about patrick, needs to get his mojo back, he was played in the 2nd row on sunday, maybe they will stick him there with no chan?

think murphy will start on the wing, until he is injured or needs a rest/loss of form then i cant see him being replaced... mcgillvary maybe the one who loses his place anyway

young michael lawrence is an 80 minute man ! start him in the back row with ferres !

If Wigan want this it's a Wigan win. Hudds can't compete with Wigan if Wigan want it (see the playoffs last season).

However Wigan could have an eye on the WCC and rest a few or not go at this full throttle, if this is the case Hudds could win.

Hudds no doubt will be seeking revenge on Wigan, afterall they're probably still bitter about losing to Wigan when it matters.

Even if Wigan lose (which lets face it means nothing with the way the league is structured) they'll stlll beat the pretenders when it matters.

Hudds aren't a threat to Wigans def of the GF or CC.

I'm not going to debate who i think or will be playing , Baloo will decided which 17 will be good enough to win the game, its then upto those 17 to win it - and with our recent record at the DW i am 100% confident of adding to that record come Friday evening .
