A crowd of 6274 for today's semi final between Wigan and London, although not much mention of it and seemed to be a bit hush hush. Is it only a problem if Huddersfield are involved? Seems to be more widespread that just the Giants if a club as successful as Wigan have been can only muster 6000 fans for a semi final played a few miles from Wigan.

Think people have to bear this in mind next time they are thinking of having a pop at a club who hasn't won owt for 60 odd years

ive tried asking this on the VT but as usual its acceptable and only our crowds are crap blah blah.......

im sure it will be mentioned by the sky lot next week amid calls for the wigan fans to support their team as they deserve better!

you are right though, poor crowds aren't usually worth mentioning apart from when its a poor crowd involving Huddersfield.

The day we take more than 6000 to a Semi Final is the day we can bitch about Wigan until then we best keep quiet and not comment on things that dont effect us.

But the argument is that its less than half of Wigan's home crowd in a semi final played IN the borough of Wigan. We would be shot to pieces if we played London in a semi final say at Halifax and the crowd was 2,500 (which is the equivalant of what happened) so why cant other clubs fans be criticised like we are ?

I'm sick to the back teeth of the digs at our crowd but whatever reasons/excuses etc we give for people not turning up seem to be acceptable for everyone else. It's only Huddersfield's poor crowds than can be torn apart.

Agree 100% Daz and if we had of had the success Wigan have had since the 80's an 90's I would expect us to be taking well over 6000 to a semi final. Lets not forget we haven't won owt for decades so to do as well as we do is an acheivement IMO.

Why should it be ok to knock our crowds but no one else's? Balls, for a team like Wigan it was shocking for a Semi Final of a major cup comp played on their doorstep!!

Kinda agree with you guy on this (I wont be popular on RAB but atleast I am honest) It was a really poor attendance for a Semi Final and I think one of the reasons our game never gets the credit it deserves. How can you encourage new fans when a Semi Final with a massive successful team and a team from a massive city barely pulls in enough current fans!

Although I suppose I can understand it with the distance to travel from London putting off most London fans and then the fact nearly everyone knew the result when the draw was made so not much of a incentive for even the Wigan fans to stump up the cash to go...A shame but true really

So why come on here then?. One minute you are slagging the club off for lying (which a lot of us we are not happy about but what can we do?). Await the investigation from the RFL and see what they come up with. The thing is there is never a balanced view. Lets not forget that there were a lot of questions to be asked of the Bulls and their financial plight but a lot don't seem to acknowledge that although some of the more sensible Bulls posters actually do. Then there is the wider Kopczak issue. Most of the Bulls fans were glad when he left and still call him kopout but now that the club are short of cash Gerry Sutcliffe appears in the T AND A with the begging bowl asking for more money. So exactly how much is a lie worth? It's not as if he has said how much extra the Bulls expect.

As long as the RFL are consistent I am sure most fans would be happy with that but as you may well know they are far from it. With that in mind I don't expect you will receive much but we'll see.

Maybe some of you would'nt be as brave to call the lad Kopout to his face on a one to one basis?. Do yourself a favour and watch the interview with Martin Gleeson from Salford on Sky this week puts things into perspective really. Its a game and there are far bigger issues to worry about. The stick that players get from a minority is just out of order. If the Giants have done wrong then they will get punished and we should all stand by that whether that is lying in court, tapping up a player, cheating the salary cap or whatever. The problem with the RFL is that because they change the goalposts so often consistency is something we'll never get. That is ultimately why the game will never expand beyond the North M62 corridor (CATALAN's excepted) because its so poorly run and administered. Radio 5 live yesterday said 25 (yes 25) London fans turned upto the Semi, not sure if you have been on there yet to vent your spleen with them?.
