Any Giants fans wanting to support Ireland at this one. I was wondering about us trying to get tickets together so we can sit have a bit of Craic and support Ireland at the game.

Bought some tickets the other week for that game (John Smiths stand), Wales v USA the next day at Wrexham plus the opening games in Cardiff. £40 for 4 games is pretty good value and getting a £19 travel lodge room in Newport for the opening makes it even better.

Watch out for an English Bitter & an Irish Stout from OM Brewery to celebrate the match - available in September/October.

Of course I want an Ireland win but not much chance of that....my girlfriend will be with me supporting England so that balances it out.

Good to see all games are to be televised as there could be some cracking games away from those involving Oz Eng and NZ.

If you drink Guinness then you've nothing to worry about being able to support them but the biggest worry would be if you brought your boots, you'd more than likely get a game due to the Guinness making you eligible to be Irish!!!!

Good to see the beeb is showing all the games but I hope they give them pleanty of publicity and raise the awareness of the general public, then hopefully get a few more bums on stadium seats. sorry I'll rephrase that mean spectators on stadium seats. Don't want anyone thinking I'm calling potential RL fans bums.

Not ideal but do not think any other broadcaster would be willing to show every game and at least people have the opportunity to watch the whole tournament.

Yes, if you subcribe to SKY and then buy Premier Sports package on top.....shame its not available to everyone though as i feel with this deal the only people that will get to see the other games are RL fans anyway.

Agreed though hopefully a few more pubs will show it to let people see the games. Red Button on the BBC would have been better but probably never an option and Sky would not want to show everything with the other things they have on.

SKY pulled out of the bidding as far as i know, and i cant seem many pubs etc just buying premier sports just for a handful of rugby league fans.....shame as it would have been an ideal opportunity for non RL fans to get to see it ...and fans who dont have SKY etc

You don't have to subscribe to sky to get premier sports - you just need a box and dish which you can get cheap off eBay. You then subscribe to premier for £10 a month they will fix you up with a viewing card.

Agreed and wonder if ITV4 was ever an option as they can devote a month to the IPL so would presumibly have had room in their programming but at least the option is there as the alternative would probably be most games not being seen by anyone not in the ground for the match.

I think it says alot of how TV companies regard RL and even its main outlet in Sky change kick off times at will and I guess we just have to live with being at their will and treated as a second class sport compared to some in their output.

great all the england games are on the bbc, shame no other games will be though?? sure its only on premier sports...maybe not a bad thing as some of the gates could be shocking to show on national tv!! england games should sell well though

BBC has the England quarter, one semi on BBC other on Premier. think the BBC has 8 live games in total

Thats my point - how many people actually have Premier Sports and will get to see the games ?
Non RL fans wont just channel hop and see a Rugby League World Cup game live and think ooh i'll watch this as maybe they would on other channels but hey ho ...least the nation can watch Leed...sorry Englands games for nowt !
