he was a very good player who played the game very hard. Sometimes he crossed the boundaries but that is what you get with some players who play close to the edge. No different to Norman Hunter or Roy Keane.

What a great article, I hope every RL player at every level reads it and takes it to heart, and takes on board the total waste of a great player and family man that resulted from misguided and totally false assumption that there would be no come back from the actions he took in order to assuage the effects that his age and chosen calling had inflicted on him.
