i do think Brett is a class act and would have loved to keep him, anouncing he was off midway through the season is ok as we never offered him the 2 years he wanted but to announce he was off to our closest rivals (League and cup speaking) is a little off, and to not be available to play against his new employer makes the whole scenario look a little off. both Brett and warington should have kept the info quiet for the next 2/3 weeks IMO.

Of course you can. If Mathers hadn't spent his time crying on twitter it wouldn't have raised the profile of the rumour and then forced us into making the statement Hodgson was leaving. As it is this has possibly had an unsettling effect on both squads and more than likely seeing as we lose Brett a bigger one on us. And all before we play Wire in the CC, how apt/ironic/strange/whatever.

What you need to accept here is that you've highlighted that when you sign players the news is leaking out and becoming the old 'worst kept secrets'. That's not good.

Suffice to say I don't share your opinion, I think that this signing being announced now is not a good thing just like it wasn't a good thing for Salford or Wakey it being common knowledge that Myler and Atkins were leaving. In the Hodgson case it has happened even earlier and you can argue all day that it's no big deal but I'm pretty certain if the boot were on the other foot you'd have a different opinion.
