After a few years without a Supporters Association, I am in the process of attempting to resurrect it.

I am starting from scratch and have held a preliminary meeting with the organisers of the various organisations which currently come under the Giants umbrella [Senior Giants, Supporters Club Trustees, etc.

A Giants’ Supporters Club – Minutes of an Initial Meeting for Current Organisations

April 19, 2010, Sportsman

 Introduction
DC welcomed everyone and thanked people for giving up their time.

 Aim of the evening
DC explained that the goal for the night was to put people’s minds at ease in that a newly formed Supporters Club [whatever it might be called would not detract from the current organisations’ efforts. These sections could either remain totally autonomous, as at present, or be a subsidiary of the new club undertaking their activities as at present. Whatever people decided, it was felt that information exchange was paramount.

 Venue
RS gave a brief background to the demise of the original Association and the club house.
After discussion, it was decided that DC should approach the *** Club and sound out the possibility of using it as a venue for meetings.

 Activities
Whilst it wasn’t the original intention to sort out a programme, the following ideas were mooted.

Excellent idea - i would be up for something like that, hope it takes off

It is at a time like this a supporters organisation needs to get going. Get the fans in and get them active now to help the club build its offfield activities.

Whilst the team is good we can build on supporter confidence and help the club move on. I offer all my support to this venture and hope everyone else does as well.
