I cannot believe some of the stuff i have been reading all over various borads and threads about Danny Brough. It is clear that he appears to be set up to become the scapegoats for everything that is not going well at the minute. Comments about our attack going down hill since brough came and how the game changed when Brough went off and Grix came on on friday.


All of this is quite selective choosing of facts but there are many other facts that disprove the Brough is a Jonah theory.

Against Catalans Brough was MOM two tries and set up a handful of others.

Against Salford it was the forwards who did not lay a platform and loads of individual mistakes from players all over the park.

The forwards are not offloading like they have in the past. Eorls offloads are down quite a bit ( difficult to use the stats as they are a bit out of date but appear to be 30 to 40% down).

It takes time for players to get to know each other particularly half backs. this has affected Brown more than Brough but will change over time as they become confident with each other.

We have had a lot of injuries this season which have prevented a settled side being played week in week out. ie Lawrence, Whatuira, Hodgson. Wild and faalogo chiming in with attacks

NBs rotation policy has added a bit to the problems identified above.

The giants picked up when Grix came on when Brough went off that was more to the fact we had a fresh player on at Dummy Half against tired forwards as ROBBO had PLAYED THE FULL 80. Of course a new fresh runner at DH would have an effect but it would have been the same if Robbo had gone off.
How many people would then have been saying we would be better without Robbo etc.


Broughs kicking on Friday was in the whole very good and will get better as he knows the players and they know him.


Lay off Brough before you all turn him into the new Chris Thorman. Give the team some time to settle and judge them in a couple of months.

I agree he needs a bit of time to settle in but at the same time, when he went off in the 2nd half on Friday night our attack DID have more zip about it. That's not scapegoating, that's a simple statement of fact.

Just heard on Radio Leeds why he was taken off on Friday. N.Brown said it was cos he back chatted the ref and if he does it again it'll be a bigger punishment!!

Yeah I heard that as well, Mr Brown didn't sound very happy about it at all.

DG mentioned not enough offloads from Crabtree, this is due to the fact that the opposition teams are wise to it and he is well surrounded in the tackle. This is creating a slight difference in attack along with the fact of incorporating a new player in the team in DB.
The longer DB, Robbo and KB play together, they will open up opposition defences.

Aye, Ganson penalised him for it and had a word with Hodgson as well. 2 minutes later he was off. He could be a great player for us, but he has to earn his stripes like everyone else.

i thought brough did alright when he set up the last try with his intial break, must agree with durhams points too.
