Me and a few mates are thinking of heading down early for Saints' game against Giants next week and I need to know where the best place is to go for a few pints beforehand, as the title of the thread suggests! I've been to the bar next to Pizza Hut just outside the ground previously, but can't be bothered waiting half an hour to get served this time. Can anyone advise me of any other places close to the ground? It would be much appreciated.

Head of Steam by station; Weatherspoons [Cherry Tree in town centre near McDonalds [where we meet; Sportsman just under railway bridge near Tescos. All these serve cask beer & are 10 minute walk to ground.

If one of you is driving try the Syngenta Recreation Club, on Leeds Road (usually free parking) just past Macdonalds 5/10 min walk to ground and good cheap beer. you can even get a full Sunday roast (reasonable price) if you're hungry. Or you could try the Gas club situated between the Town centre and the stadium, very short walk to ground.

Gas club is a good place for cheap beer and food and a good atmosphere and it seems to becoming more popular by the game but if you want to stay in town there is lots of bars around the town centre depending on your taste !
