In addition to interviews there can be CCTV and forensics rtc. It can depend on how busy the labs are and other cases etc. Can be something as 'simple' as a hold up on test results.

It may also be that the police require some legal advice.

probably CPS asking for further evidence.. that could be anything (As stated) witness statements, CCTV, forensics..

without knowing the full details, say in a "nightclub scenario" i would guess tracking down witnesses may take some time, and the police would have to show they've done everything they can to find all the witnesses.

similarly in a place like newcastle, there is every chance that people have come from all over the country on a weekend, meaning getting those statements could take longer than usual..

equally it could just be a case that the CPS dealing has been off sick or unavailable for a fortnight.

whatever the reason, if i was a huddersfield fan, i wouldn't be any more concerned.. it is neither leaning towards a charge, nor to having proceedings dropped
