Bloody hell, December 17th 1952, I was taken down to Fartown by my dear Uncle Bernard to my first match, a 7th Birthday treat and if memory serves me well we lost 17-0 to Leigh. Since then there have been some "highs" and more than a fair share of "lows". Great players have come and gone, far too many too mention, although I can still remember being thrilled and frustrated by those fortunate to don the famous Claret & Gold. Oh to see my boyhood hero Tommy Smales directing the team round the field. Times change, and a lot of us were there in the darkest of days down at Fartown, fortunately with special mention to Sir Ken, the Glory days are no longer a distant dream. Throughout these past 50 years there has been one constant in going t'match, and that is the wonderful supporters of our great team, it has been a pleasure to have met many of you, had some banter, shared a beer or two, and been proud to have been in such good company.
Sorry for Rambling on, but I'll end on this note.

Don't remember too much of that game Richard, maybe that's because of all "Vino Collapso" on the bus over and the session in Wetherspoons

My hat goes off to you [I mean it would if it weren't so cold and I had the crop of hair that I used to have!!. How on Earth can you remember your first game at your age?

My Dad to me to my first game when I was 3 or 4. That's how accurate I can be - and I'm of a very similar age to you! [I might even know you!.

Forget this week 50 years ago, today 50 years ago I was born!!!!

And just found out that 'someone's' deleted the semi final from my v+ box, so if anyone has it and can put it on dvd for me I'd be gratefully eternal (and buy you a pint!)
