Well rumours of Bradfords financial meltdown would appear to be inaccurate if this report is anything to go by.
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 361832.stm
£275,000 pound per season for Matt Orford. cannot leave much money for anyone else. So i assume they must have some good kids coming through.
i am torn on this signing if it works they will have done well BUT it is putting a lot of eggs in one basket for an older player who has not come off the back of a good season.
We may find out in our first game of the season. ( Oops).

| Chris Walker doesn't seem a happy Bunny right now.. [url=http://www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=rleague/09/11/18/RUGBYL_Bradford.htmlSporting Life Story[/url
By all accounts he had a deal with Bradford, contracts agreed etc and and now he's been left in limbo with no club because Bradford have dropped his offer because they've picked up Orford.

Even if they have got good kids coming through they generally ship them out so though can bring Aussies in, e.g Atkins, Ferres

I did see Kusto play and Orr was far worse. What made the situation worse was the club got up to super league and decided Ali Davys (a good half back) was not good enough to play super league and they brought someone in to replace him as inept as Chris Orr.

| Didnt Danny Russel say Ali Davies was one of the best players at the club, and could have been a great scrum half in SL?

| Ali Davys would have been hot at SL level i think in those days !.
Remember the song we had at the time - (those that went to games back then ) ...it went " Orr not very good , Orr not very good, Orr not very............" you get the jist of it.
Part of the problem back in '98 was most of the team that got us promoted were dumped for Schofield's mates or blokes who were past it and not up to this level .

| roofaldo, what are you on about , they have spent the last 30 years trying to get someone, anyone , the council to improve, renew their ground, ask ant keigthly supporter, they bought all their trophies, by overspending the salary cap (were fined allowed to keep said trophies, no other sport would allow this), now they are big spender again, as long as this kind of thing is allowed to carry on we will always be a nonentity in the world of sport.

Like Kirklees did for you?
As for your second point i take it you haven't gone up to the limit of overseas players and the entire squad came through your academy system?

Shame you are talking utter bollox, then?
The cap breach was because image rights paid by Publico to Iestyn bloody Harris, treated as outside the cap by the club, were dragged into the cap - seemingly a technicality that the club I believe still feels aggrieved about.
Because the cap audit for year 1 was not completed till well through year 2, and because by then it was far too late for Bulls to reduce cap spending in year 2, we ended up with breaches for 2 years (this and similar had a lot to do with the introduction of the real-time salary cap, to stop this utter nonsense happening again ).
The RFL was very lenient anyway (unlike with e.g. Wigan) and imposed the minimum available penalties - both in terms of points deduction AND in terms of fines (which were modest, and much was suspended anyway)
Bulls only won ONE trophy in - or since - those years.
Also worth noting that the club is solvent and breaking even. Few clubs can say that.
