Huddersfield Giants have signed utility man Scott Grix from Wakefield Wildcats.

The 25-year-old, who captained Ireland at the 2008 World Cup, has signed a two-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium.

Grix told BBC Radio Leeds perform on the pitch, it's going to be a big season for me.

I think it's a good move for all three parties. We are blessed with halves so was never really gonna get a look in with all our players fit. Hope he gets regular gametime for you guys. He could progres into a good player in a team more suited to his playing style

Really?! Brough is very capable. You have a few decent kids, but SL is a different prospect. Jeffries has not played well for 2/3 years and Obst is cover in the halves (though a nifty 9). Blessed? Have you made some other signings?

Not consistently, but he does have the occasional cracker. HIs try assists are up with the best aswell.

Show me the thread where I say we are 'blessed' with halves. Go on find it. In the meantime I am waiting to find out why dholli12 says you are thus blessed.

We have Drew/ Robbo/ Brown/ McNally/ Grix/ Kyle Wood(?) and Brett Hodgson has also played in the halves as has Cudjoe. That will be okay for 2010.

With wakey clearing out 20+ players from all ranks i am happy to see Drew and Grix at the Galpharm.

Good utility player, just not sure if he will be good enough to play 6 consistently for you. Having said that he will always give his all in whatever position.

Pretty much sums up my feelings. Started the season well at 6, got injured and then got shifted around. Did his best at wing but was targetted by teams.

When he did get a chance at 6 he never really looked convincing except Wire (A) and unfortunately was behind Obst & Martin. Could well turn out to be a cracking signing if Brown can get him settled in one spot

Glad to have been able to put you right re our options at half back. Sorry if the facts interfere with your ill informed and ignorant view that we only have Robbo.

Now if your fellow wakey fan can enlighten us on the 'blessings' you have in the halves...They are not readily apparent.

In his season at Widnes he started like a house on fire and made the fullback position his own.. was confident and had a great turn of pace and became a standout player.
By the end of the season he seemed to lose his confidence and you could see he wasn't comfortable out on the pitch. Sadly thats how many at Widnes will remember him.
I was supprised to see him make the step up to SL and have 2 good seasons.. so it looks like he has regained his confidence and I wish him all the best.

Happy to have given you some information about the Giants. It may stop you making foolish comments. Do lets us know when you find some factsabout your own team.

This is a rugby league forum. Your first post on here and the comments above have nothing to do with the Giants. Why not give us your sober analysis of Grix, his skill set or where you think he can do a job for the Giants.

Back to topic. Whereever Grix plays it is evident that one skill he has is a kicking game. This is true of Drewy and Kyle Wood (if he joins us). This will add an important dimension in 2010.

Without wanting to get into another Wakey/Hudds war, how do you come up with that??

Not saying you are wrong, he may well have a very good kicking game....but that was not seen at Wakey for the simple reason he was not on kicking duty......l would hazard a guess he kicked less than Obst and Martin.
