| Quote ="GiantMisterE"I posted a comment about this 'Loyal Supporters' chant after the crusaders game. It may be sung by folk who went to games at Fartown, but it doesn't make them any more mature than my 8 year old.
It's childish and will put people off coming again as someone will get intimidated by it.
At the end of the day, it is quite ironic that it is actually sung to people who have paid and travelled to places like wrexham and wigan. Surely, by default, they are true supporters.
Mostly, this season, the giants support has been great (comparitively speaking) partly because we have had something to be positive about. However, we also need to be able to tell the players we are not happy with what we have seen.
Would these 'loyal supporters' preferred it if people stayed behind and booed?
I really don't mind us losing to a better team, but if we don't turn up on the day and hugely under-perform I reserve the right to do the same.
That been said, I don't leave early, but don't chastise other people for doing so.'"
I think as a club you need to get over Fartown. At least viewed from the outside it looks like it is an issues which causes a bit of a schism and is keeping some people in the town away from the club.
As a Wigan fan who still misses CP, I know how those of you who went to Fartown must feel, believe me, but you need to get over it and stop referring to it all the time.

| Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown:
"We were well beaten in every facet of the game. We can't offer any excuse. We've been getting away with parts of our game now for six to eight weeks and today we played a very good side who are very well coached.
"We need to coach a bit better in some areas and the players need to improve in some areas. That game has been coming and sometimes it takes a result like that for all of us to put our hands up and say we aren't getting better and we need to get better."
"Wigan have got some terrific players. Sean O'Loughlin is comfortably the best British player in the game. When they dominate so easy he can control the game very well."
improve around the ruck area and our goal line defence which he keeps banging on about... we havent been improving for a while now and wigan showed that.

| I heard a fan shout to people who left 15 mins before game "don't come back".
Why?
They have paid money to come to wigan and if they want to leave early what's that got to do with them?
How we supposed to attract new fan base when you get abuse from your own fans?
You got a reaction from one of own fans by sticking his 2 fingers up to said fan......I'm sorry but it got the reaction it deserved.

You gotta question why some people bother at times.
Anyway time to move on

Do you honestly think that the team intend to lose a game- just to pee off the supporters like you? Or actually did they work hard fir a FULL 80 minutes bur were beaten by a better team on the day. Which do you think will be best way to spur the players on for next week- the players looking up and seeing droves of people leaving or people standing till the end and showing their support. If you want to share in the glory when we win you should be prepared to share in the failure when we lose. The next game we win will you be staying to celebrate or will you have already left I wonder

Apply that same logic to the salary cap Deano, get over it.

Its not down to you to dictate who can and can't share in the glory. You are really way off the mark with this one. Supporters show appreciation when they deem fit. NO team intends to lose matches but yesterday there seemed to be something wrong with the players. Anyway its gone now.... onwards. What hasn't gone mind you is your attitude towards everyone else whom you seem to criticise as they aren't part of your little band of 'loyal' supporters!. People don't take too kindly to such strong opinions and you should be prepared that by picking on fellow supporters one day it might just come back and bit you on the backside!.

What ?? i dont get your point here....Fartown is not only the name of our old ground it is the club's traditional nickname..its like telling Warrington fans to drop Wire ..it wont happen , to our supporters the club IS Fartown so why would we try and 'get over it' .
Even non followers in town stop me from time to time and ask " how have Fartown got on today ?" so i think you may have got the wrong meaning of Fartown to the fans .

I was quite surprised at just how many penalties he gave you. Seemed like he didn't take the whistle out of his mouth for 40 mins. You'd certainly be forgiven for thinking he was trying to get you guys back in the game. I've not had a chance to watch the game back so it may, of course, turn out that they were all fully deserved and for offences only we had committed (meaning, for example, he didn't ignore every off side until he decided it was the right time to give one in your favour), but at the end of the day it's Bentham and we have a shocking record with him, so I'm always skeptical.

| You are flaming the fire here - An opinion is fine but what you have done since the start of this thread is condone the actions of a few in abusing people who decide to leave the game early and you wonder why YOUR actions got the response it did. Just be careful because the response next time may be stronger and none of us 'sensible' supporters need that!.

| yesterday was one of those days where nothing went right for us, we were poor in every department and never looked like getting anything out of the game once we let tomkins walk unnopposed through our shambolic defence.not once did we get into their faces in defence, our forwards, usually so dominant were well and truly battered, our backs and in particular our defence was awful, our kicking game was non existant and our half backs had no answer.
im not sure what went wrong, yes, wigan were good but we were truly terrible..
as for this loyal supporter thing, i dont like people chanting it when others leave,i am one of those who suffered at fartown but i wouldn't ever try and make out my support is more worthy than anyone else's, fair play to the few of us who did support the lads til the end, but you cant blame anyone for leaving early last night.

Actually the reason I'm annoyed about the whole thing is because one of the people on here who left early thought it was acceptable to turn around to the crowd and stick two fingers up to a section of the crowd in front of my kids. Which they saw and commented on. This is someone I know has celebrated the big wins but then complained he'd wasted his money last night. I'm afraid if that's the attitude people have they are spending their money on the wrong things. We are all dissapointed about the result last night but I bet the players are the ones most disappointed.

No they werent, it was started directly behind me by our "younger" end, none of them have ever seen Fartown, let alone been there.
It was bang out of order considering i know most of the ones who left early as well, ive seen them at more games than ive ever seen the kids at.
I know outta of the 2 groups who i would consider loyal and it certainly aint the younger ones.
At least they can get a chant started at the back end of the Britannia so alls not lost.

| I actually cringed when they started with the loyal supporter chant as well as telling them to shut up ...the ones who it was aimed at have been to enough games over the years to be perfectly entitled to walk out of a dire performance like we saw last night .

| Jools you are talking garbage. So these loyal supporters whom you know from the fartown days must be what in their mid 30's AND 40's and they were the ones shouting 'loyal supporters' were they?. They weren't at all - the majority were younger fans - I watched with interest from a few rows back. You were lucky after last night a 2 fingered salute was all you got in response (and no I am not condoning that in front of kids). However if you can't take it don't dish it out.
If we are not careful this behaviour is going to see some ugly confrontations before long and it needs stopping. We are all here for the greater good.
I have said enough on this one but its like...............................banging your head
I was at Wakefield the other week, got drenched and paid 20 quid for the pleasure. So what?.
