Gaskell is no where near a centre IMO, defensively at least. If he's not going to be playing 6 for you, I'd struggle to get him in that team.

He was very good when he played for us when he wasn't getting his head taken off - should go better in super league with better ref's.... in theory

Forgive me that I can't bring myself to get over excited about a guy who left us a few years ago, who has since been plying his trade in a lower division, we didn't have to fight off competition for, and his current clubs fans aren't tearing hair out over him leaving.
I can't bull up his game just to make myself feel better about what is a backwards step signing.
He will be an ok squad back up- but I'm hoping we don't need to play him.

Didn't even realise Fergy was playing till he scored....i either haven't watched him close enough or Code13 is seeing something most of us can't.

I thought Ferguson was pretty anonymous in what was a decent Scotland performance overall, Broughy as expected was very good, and even got himself binned so Jerry could finally get a try scoring pass, or any pass for that matter.

Ferguson is not the answer but if he, Gaskell or Clough were to come I'd give them my full backing and support as they must have something about them and all would start with a clean slate which everyone must do as if not they're on a hiding to nothing.

Thewlis saying we are still nearly up to the cap even with eorl retired. If that is the case we are definitely up the creek. With 5 players leaving so far surely that can't be right ?

It is all about coaching Brearley, Stone can't play for them, but he can get them playing the right sort of Rugby and believing in themselves. Our props are as big and as fit as any " give or take " The rest is attitude, desire, commitment, none of which was much in evidence last season. We are starting from the bottom, a chance to get it right.

I'd prefer 'Derek' to be an off loading second row, and a fill in prop , not a full time one tbh.
