No, don't think it's strange at all. We're allegedly trying to offload the 3 Bulls players and I don't find that strange as our new coach doesn't see them fitting in with his plans and Brown probably feels the same with Mamo and Randall. He will be building a team he wants at Newcastle Knights and is trying to offload players so he can bring in who he wants. It's part of professional team sport, you move players on to bring in new ones and happens every season at every club around the world.

Not according to Anderson though. He must have seen something in them to think they could improve us and overall he did bring in some pretty good players. Like Ive said it's all part of the game, players have to move on if you want to bring new players in and it's unfortunate that we brought in 3 players who Stone doesn't think will fit in with his plans and needs to move them on without even playing for us before replacements can be allegedly brought in.

I think Anderson panicked when he realised our squad was so thin and tried to get more depth for next year, as squad players these guys are ok- the problem is it doesn't appear that stone agrees brierley will be playing at FB and doesn't appear to like our hooking choices so now priorities are different.
We finished bottom last year. Symonds ikahihifo ormsby and brierley coming in didn't prevent that. Without bringing in better players than we have we can't expect to do much better than we did-although we may get a bit more luck in the injury front..
The fact is the Bradford three improve our depth of squad in case of injury- but don't improve our squad that finished bottom....

Can't disagree with this, as fans it's definitely encouraging that Rick has identified issues in the squad and is taking action on what he feels is important. No disrespect to the 3 Bradford players, but we really do not need them in the squad. I have no issue in signing championship players, we've done pretty good with them in the past, but we really don't need them. The squad needs strengthening in other areas.

Ferguson signed up at Wakey, Thewlis trying to offload the other Two crocks. These signings had nothing to do with Anderson as he had little input on recruitment. Strange the number of players are from the Shuttleworth stable and Thewlis connection. Rick must smell a Rat.

Bang on again. There is a world of difference in signing young players from the championship with bags of potential, as opposed to players who are there because they couldn't get a SL side. I know sometimes a change of coach and club can make a big change to a player, But IMO PA was never going to improve them, and it seems R Stone doesn't want to try.

Just as a matter of interest, I wonder what D Powell will make of Greg Eden, If it's anything like he has done with most of Cas's squad he may yet turn out to be the next B Slater, Solomona was a nobody till Powell got him, and Gale is twice the player he was. I don't think Fullback is Eden's position myself but Cas have signed Chase so who knows.

solomona looked pretty good to me when playing for london, was a real danger taking high bombs to the corner, not surprised he got snapped up

alot of people didnt rate dorn either, i always have, got some pace and tries to match, just the type of full back we have missed over the last few years.. hopefully stone sorts it now

I wish the club would clarify the situation regarding Crabtree ASAP.

Hes been a great servant but if he is not going to be 100 percent and playing with injuries and retiring is the difference between us getting a Hardaker quality player at full back I would have to say id be happy with that.

I'm with you on Big Eorl, except i don't regard him as having been a good servant, to me he has been a well payed pro rugby player, Yes he has been loyal but time to retire for me, before his injuries start to ruin the rest of his life. I'm sure he can carve out a new career in the media, or perhaps at the Giants , he is a very personable man and I'm sure there is work for him off the field.

We could certainly use the money to better effect IMO, I know there are plenty on here who will disagree, but you either are serious about being a good side, or you hang on to players longer than you should etc, To me a good fullback is far more important, I would hate for us to keep players like Eorl and others and finish up with a makeshift player in a key position.

Strong rumours regarding Ferguson and Wakefield as If he was staying i'm sure the club would have announced it after that paper posted he had signed last week when interviewing him for Scotland.

1 - Wood to Wakefield in replace of Moore who will be sacked.
2 - Wood to Leeds in player swap + cash for Hardaker (Lets face it the 1st is more likely)

Heard we were going to keep Gaskell who was going to go right centre if fit but he wouldn't cancel his holiday to come to pre season early to work with the physio so were trying to offload him too now. (Don't know if that is true or not)

Can hardly cancel a holiday when he has 2 kids and a wife who are going with him and looking forward to the trip? Where the club going to reimburse him for his financial loss? Not a footballer earning thousands per week is he.

Gaskell has been fit for a good length of time. However a mixture of monthly non payments of wages, Coach wanting to try a new half back partnership in the championship play offs forced Lee to sit on the sidelines. I believe from a source that he asked to be loaned out for the middle 8 playoffs so he can start playing again however clubs were not willing to take on his full wage for this period of time.

I think that Gaskell is better than Brierley as a player as shown in his championship player of the year season in 2015 and also by dragging St Helens to a GF at age 20. He would compliment Brough well.

I hope we keep Gaskell and play him as a centre and then he can cover the halfs. Jamie Ellis is going to have to lose weight and move to hooker I feel with Ryan Hinchliffe moving to loose forwards.

This off season is going to be one of the biggest turn around of playing staff we have seen for a long time and to say we are in pre season in a week is a tad bit of a worry for me.

Gaskell was still paid each month,the delay was by 1 week once,the rest was a few days.don't make it right but he was paid. Apparently Gaskell refused to play due to his hamstring playing up which affected him for majority of 2016.
