So you are saying if we had thrown and caught passes/kicks correctly we still wouldn't have scored?

| Wow, some pretty out there views based on the back of a game against last years champions (who are 2nd in the table now), in awful conditions. Granted, were not playing Harlem globetrotter stuff at the minute, but were far from as bad as some are making out on here. Our defence at times was outstanding in that game. We got numbers in, took them on down the middle, when we jumped the line we invariably judged it right and they rarely got a roll on. Now, I don't think this is a vintage saints side overall , but their pack is top drawer. And we stood up big time.
Personally I think we have improved overall performance from last year. We were powderpuff at times last year, where packs were just slicing through us. That has changed. Attack wise we are still struggling. But sacking baloo now? No chance. We have no divine right to be up there. Win a few and were right back in it . Let's not forget also, that defence is coached also; structure, tactics , ethos. If not more than attack. Baloo deserves credit for this.
Today, I though most of the chances that we bombed were poor execution of the right idea, and the final kick or pass marginally missing its target, as opposed to aimlessly off loading or outright panicking when within touching distance of the try line. Particularly first half when we were actually trying to build pressure rather than score every set. Again, this was an improvement from the very start of this season and last season.
Maybe I'm a glass Half fuller, and I admit we do need to improve our attacking plays, but sack baloo now? No. Review at end of season, but stick with the big man now.

| I kind of agree that sacking him now isn't going to help matters but I totally understand the frustration. Alas, for me, the issue is leadership on the pitch. A calming influence when the tension rises and things come to a head.
Brough is a great player, no doubt, but he is no captain. We don't have that sort of player though. If we did, well, we wouldn't be where we are in the league at the moment.
We are one player short of a great, great team.

| A leader of men. A Sinfield, O'Loughlin type.
This is not a sleight on Brough. There are very few players out there of that ilk.
We look to Brough though because Anderson has put him up there and we have absolutely no one else that is ready or willing to step up.
I'd like to see Bailey given more of a leadership role personally because he has something about him IMO but Anderson doesn't seem to have him solidly in the first team picture which he needs to be to be considered for the role.

| Sacking the coach? Abit over the top isn't it.
We are only a few points away from the top 4.
Our defence is fantastic even if we are doing too much of it.
Our players are working as a unit which shows our coach is leading a settled camp.
Players have been rotated and players have been given a chance.
This comment comes on the back of 3 defeats. Salford (our bogey team), Hull KR away (who are on fire) and the champions.
Before that we smashed Warrington away and got that monkey off our backs.
All we need to do is hold onto the ball and gain momentum. It's already proven our skill in attack is there if we do that.
Let's just get behind the coach and team and play our part.

| I think that broughs captaincy is now getting in the way. If Eorl was an 80 minute player we could give it him as he has a lot of respect and is known for being level headed by the refs. - unfortunately it won't work for 20 mins a half.
Folk won't like this- but I'd give Grix the captaincy. He has great game vision, he is well respected for his hard work ethic throughout the club, and he's calm.

| Grix goes into his shell when it gets tough. If he drops a ball early doors then he's pretty much dead set to have a bad game full stop. Same with a hit up; if he takes a big hit he won't run it up the rest of the game.
We need someone who reacts differently than that. Someone who drops a ball but shakes it off, claps his hands and smashes straight back.
I think it's worth saying that today, when we did drop ball, we generally backed up the person who dropped it. That is a good reflection of where we are defensively and we are defending great for a side who spends 60%+ of a game doing it. But without the ball we won't score and we are so out of touch of having that ball it is telling in attack.

I get what you mean- but Perhaps with the responsibility he wouldn't. Brough took on the captaincy well initially- now I think it's hindering the team and his game. So if not grix who then Danril?

| Mentioned Bailey earlier but he's not stuck in Anderson's team which makes it unlikely.
It's not an easy fix. There is no clear candidate, certainly from the side that Anderson picks, and even in the squad.

| Grix as captain!!!!!!
I've heard it all now, he's lucky to even be in the team in my opinion.
I know he's injured but Ferres is an obvious choice. If not why not give Jerry a go. He plays every week for the full 80. He's calm and collected. Even though he's not very vocal he leads from the front.

There's pressure on Anderson, there has to be.
We're nearly halfway to the ludicrous split, and we're sitting 9th.
That's not good enough, not by a long chalk.
This group of players should be looking at a solid top 4 finish, which is probably out of the question now, but they're actually in danger of getting dragged into the middle eight!
If we're ninth at the split, that will be a disastrous result for this team. More than Anderson should go if that happens.

We should have offered Sinfield a contract a few years back, and got the last few seasons out of him.
Gone to the dark side for his pension now though.

| Agree about Broughy being captain is hindering his game, I said so myself at the beginning of the season ...once a ref has got his back up he seems to be hell bent on chewing his ear off for the rest of the game rather than cracking on and lifting the team.
And it's true we don't seem to have a leader out there no one obvious person who seems to be the one that says 'come on boys' like danny used to.

| Anderson shouldn't go! His system isn't working at the moment but we have not been turned over once excluding the fc game! Even if we finished 9th it would be his mess to sort! Although If we finished 9th I would expect the club to see if anyone was available for the 2016 season!
Wigan by 8
Leeds by 4
Salford by 6
Hull kr by 4
Saints by 3
Bar hull we have been competitive in every fixture with every game being in the balance! 6 try's over those games above and we would be on 18 points! All its and buts however the league is so tight that a few wins strung together we will be back up there

If we are 9th at the split, no doubt his job will need to be reviewed. However right now the thought of sacking him is crazy.
We aren't that far away and there is still plenty of season left.
Apart from finishing in the top 4 regularly in a dumb structure and winning a shield I don't see how we should be comfortably getting a top 4 finish. We aren't even regarded as one of the big 4 and rightly so.
The league is far more tough but like I said we are still in it, we just need to get momentum.

| I certainly don't think he should go yet, we don't seem to be that far away from getting it right and after all we're only 3 points from the the Top 4.
However, think it only makes sense to review things at the end of the season.
We appear to have slipped backwards since winning the LLS and instead of improving in the areas we all knew needed improving on last season we look to be worse. We're not attractive to watch and we don't learn lessons. But Paul Anderson should be given time to address that.
There's a long way to go yet in the season and I don't see how a change in coach will help us. On the otherhad, a change in Captain for the reasons I've said previously said on other threads...

| Personally I think you are over reacting. I've seen this from almost every teams opposition fans this year.
It is a very tight league and fans are getting the old squeaky bums. Warrington Wigan Salford have all at times this year yo yo'ed in this league and been calling for changes and questioning the coaches.
They are now 3rd 4th and 5th.
A win next week and you could be up to 5th again.
2 wins in a row and results in your favour and you are 3rd.
For years fans and teams have asked for a competitive league, but it seems now we have it all fans do is panic when they lose the odd game.
It's pretty clear that Wakefield have lost ground this year and everyone else is pretty even with the exception of Leeds. Not surprising they up their game now top 4 is critical rather than top 8.
Come the split, you can see the championship teams throwing their all against Wakefield. If a couple can topple Wakefield then it will guarantee 2 championship teams in either 3/4/5 meaning at least 1 maybe 2 will gain promotion. Likely Bradford and Leigh. Anyone else who gets trapped in the middle 8 can be pretty secure in the knowledge that they are not going to be the prime targets for the championship clubs and so may get an easier ride.
I think 18 points is the target for top 8 so most teams are halfway there. Leeds and ourselves are nearly over the threshold.

| Dont think its time for anderson to go just yet, but if we continue to go backwards then what choice do we have at the end of the season... davy to pump more money in? cant see that happening.
we are 3 points off the top 4 which i think is the aim we are going for its a tight league, if we fail to get in the top 4 then questions have to be asked.
right now you can see the players are working damn hard for each other so anderson hasnt lost the dressing room, its just need the players to hold onto the ball and not panic when we are behind with 20mins left!
