Not sure at all about Grix. Do we see him as a utility back or an out and out winger. As a winger he does not seem the quickest and also has suspect defence and is prone to a few mistakes.
If he is coming then i trust the coaching set up know what they are doing but he would not have been a player i would have wanted.

I don't see where Grix would go apart from the reserves.

Wasn't the same said about Moore / Kirkmond / Lunt ? I'd say we give the guy a chance as he has a wicked headband.

If true I am surprised wakey are 'letting him go'. An excellent utility player at half back , 1 and 13. (even wing!).

He would be a better fb than blaymire / an excellebt 6 with brough or a very good ball handling & kicking 13.....so he gets stuck on the wing!

Well if he's peeved at being on the wing and he ends up coming, he could possibly be a Fulton type replacement. And perhaps being settled into that kind of role will see him push on.

And he will hopefully be cheap.

If he was as good as you make out in any of those positions then he would have made them his own by now especially given that we don't have a recognised stand off. The reason that he is 'stuck' on the wing is that he is a decent enough utility player but does not have a defined position.

Would be very surprised if Hudds wanted him and can't imagine he would be anything more than back up as at Wakey filling in when and where injuries dictate.

This is not the place to discuss Kear's screw ups with pivots.

If Brown can do with Grix what he did with Moore we will have a winner. let's see if we sign him.

It is nothing to do with Kear's 'screw ups'. Having watched Grix for the last 2 seasons he is a utility player a decent one but that's all. He cannot blame Kear because he hasn't taken the opportunities when they have been presented to him.

If he goes I hope you do turn him into a super star but I doubt it. As you say lets see if you sign him.

No, I am fairly sure we can blame Kear...we have taken enough players from Wakey and turned them into decent players before now.

I have not seen a single pivot improve under Kear. I was not aware Grix had blamed Kear for anything.

Most Cas fans told us that we signed their 2 worst players for 09. With our coaching staff Moore and Korki have improved. Likewise Lunt. I would think Grix woud benefit from such inputs.

Grix will have to improve to get into our team even on the bench. Surely Brown and his team, now that he's been here a year and had a good look at other sides and their players, will be pretty confident in getting improvements out of anyone we sign.

If we sign him, great. Let's see what then happens.

this signing if true may give Brown a year to build up and become a ball playing back row forward ala Sinfield or Fulton. I have always thought this is where he would end up.

As for Grix it is difficult to know how good he is as he has played virtually every position from 1 to 7 under Kear. Comments i have read on the Wakey board though suggest that the majority of wakey fans would like him to be given a run at 6 to see if he has got the ability to make that position his own.

I think MG in his earlier post summed up grix's abilty perfectly.

If he comes i would be happy to see him here. Our recruiters have done well recently and we seem to have the ability to bring out the best in players.

A mate of mine is drinking buddies with Danny Brough's Dad. My mate rang me on Friday to say Danny's signed for us. I told him that rumour had passed now the strong rumours of him signing for Hull KR were doing the rounds. He said "Well Danny's Dad has just told me he's signed for your lot". Make of that what you will but I was sure he was going to HKR.
