| sky own the game paid for in full. they need to fill air time the clubs and the RFL couldn't sign the new contract any quicker if they tried.us as fans will see games being played at the time and days that will suite sky this and the new structure and with more games could mean a increase in the price of season tickets. i can see sales going down not up

| Back to topic about Sundays. I'm one fan who would like a Change to Fridays. Think it's better atmosphere at night games. Sky will mess us about less. Younger crowd more likely to come on a Friday night. The main reason of course is I have to work alot of Sundays but always have Fridays off. Would a season of testing Friday night games really put fans off? I for one would be an extra person on a constant basis to attend games, how many fans would we lose?

Clearly more than if we switched to Fridays going by the survey! You only have to look around the family stand on a Friday night to see all the usually full ST holder seats that are empty.
Quote ="Mad_Jack_Mcmad"Quote ="Unbeliever"As I said when I filled in the survey, does it really matter when Sky keep moving the games...and low and behold...
GIANTS V SAINTS SELECTED FOR SKY TV
Round 27 Game to take place on Friday 12th September, kick off 8.00pm'"
This is what annoys me.
Looking at the last 3 weeks fixtures it should be obvious to anyone that Leeds/Saints, Warrington/Huddersfield, Leeds/Wigan, Warrington/Saints, Warrington/Wigan and Hudds/Saints would all be top 6 games. Sky could have announced they were televising these at the start of the season. Everyone would then know what was going on. There is literally no need for them to leave it this late in the season to announce these games.'"
I suspect the reason is they didn't expect the bottom end to be already done and dusted.

I know Daz-was having two rants for the price of one!

well i suppose we wont find out now, the 1000 that responded to the survey were no doubt wanting to stick to the sundays! best way to do it would be to give it a try for a season and like you say less messing about by sky if we did switch

Well, from my little group would shrink from eight to two.
I can't go on a Friday as I'm never back from work in time. After a week at school my daughter wouldn't stay awake long enough to make it worthwhile and my wife would have to stay home to put her to bed. Replicate that across my sister, her husband and their little one and you've wiped out two generations of support.
We have enough problems getting the latent support in the town to think of the Giants as somewhere you go rather than something you watch on TV without making it damned near impossible to actually get there.
Still could be worse, a few years ago they had the harebrained idea to move kick off to 5.30 on a Sunday so it would neatly coincide with everybody's Sunday dinner.

| It's such a difficult one as we are, of course, all heavily influenced by how much any change would impact on ourselves. Neither Friday's or Sunday's are a problem for me but purely for personal preference I prefer Friday kick offs.
My concern is the club only appear to have surveyed one group - the existing fans - and what it needed to do was consult with a number of groups. For example, not only those who already go to games but those who used to go and have stopped (someone mentioned ex-season ticket holders would be a great place to start) and those that are fans but have never been regular attendees.
I would have liked to see Fridays tried as I think we need to try something but I'm not sure the club gave itself the best chance of making an educated decision on this.
Having said that, my main concern about Friday games is that it is clear that there is already a generation of fans missing from our games but the crowds on a Sunday show that this may not be a problem with the next generation as there are a lot of kids that attend with their families and this may very well stop if Friday games are preferred. We have to be very careful that in addressing the problems of todays crowds we don't hurt ourselves in the longer term.

| I never understood why people disliked the 5.30 sunday kick offs. It was early enough for kids to attend. It was late enough for shop workers to finish work and get there. It gave people whose other half wasn't interested opportunity to spend whole day with family and still get to the game. There'd even be a night time atmosphere early and late in the season. Always seemed like the best solution to me.

| As an Walk up fan who can't come to Sunday games, Bring it to Fridays please. I want to watch the Giants more! It's also a good that they have had a poll (which not everyone knew about) but as a club they must do what's best in there eyes and having the poll to start with must of made them think twice about keeping the Sunday games

| Don't think it would harm to trial Friday games, say 5-6 home games during the summer or something next year just to see what the response would be.

Agreed. Coupled with a flexible ticket option this could work

| Here's an idea - if we're gonna be playing the 'big sides', a la Wigan, Saints, Leeds on a Friday or Thursday night, then why doesn't the club get there first and leave the other sides who perhaps won't have the benefit of big away crowds to Sundays. We haven't played Wigan on a Sunday since 09 IIRC, since 2012 for Leeds I think - why don't we structure it like this;
Friday Night 7:45-8:00, Category One: Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Wire, Hull, =#25383CBradford - all games that would have decent away support no matter what, and this would have an appointment to view for the bigger home games, the biggest change would be moving to Thursday Night, which might affect us once, maximum twice, based on the record we've had since their introduction. The aim would be to sell tickets for these games really early with Groupon deals, special offers and the like.
Sunday Afternoon 3:00, Category Two: Castleford, Catalans, Hull KR, Salford, Wakey, Widnes =#25383CHalifax, =#25383CFeatherstone, =#25383CLeigh, =#25383CDoncaster, Challenge Cup Games (When not on Television) - have a few Cheaper tickets for away fans and home fans alike, and hopefully these games won't be moved. Obviously, the Easter Week games will have to be different, but where available, these games should be on Sunday afternoons, which suits older people and a subsection of the fans and families.

| But games aren't moved "all the time". We have had 3 home games moved due to TV this year. The other two games were moved for other reasons. We have had fewer home televised games this year than we have had since 2007. In the last 7 seasons we have played at least 8 games on a Sunday every season. Clearly that is not a reason for poor ticket sales.
PS In the last 3 years we have had 5 games moved to a Friday for television, 5 out of 39 games. Not a huge amount is it.

| The home game against Widnes on 8th March has been moved to Friday 6th. This is to avoid a short turnaround before the Cas game the following Thursday.
