A bit of a trouncing for Big Ben and the Fijian team in their warm up versus England. As far as Ralph Rimmer’s “education” is concerned, the RFL are presently drumming into him that, as well as no arrests being made, the only things to go missing were the points for Fiji.
Disappointment too for Caleb & Luis as Lebanon eased past Wales in their warm up, 38-22. Bongser noted that result as he is off work on the 23rd and Oirish Mick from The Egerton is coming to Leigh to join him in a late morning sesh in Burke’s before watching Lebanon v Ireland at HQ.
Is anyone else attending a RLWC match in Leigh? Folk seem a little disinterested.

Not only was is good to see Ben make a decent account of himself last night, it was even better to see Lam with Big Mal. Can only bode well to raise our profile even more. Of all the signings Derek has made in all of his stints at the club, this for me is his greatest.

If we do keep him the only position to play him is on the wing, he is not a centre, his defence is suspect and too much of a risk for superleague, we saw he had problems with tackling in the championship.

Poor onfield call from Moore that, as the rules stand, handcuffs the man upstairs especially if he is not instructed to look at anything bar the grounding. Thaler was therefore not allowed to point out the shoulder charge (no realistic attempt to wrap). The Yorkshire Post bemoans the lack of a penalty for PNG but could Bongser please have an adjudication from Reffy or Atomic as to whether that would have counted as "fouled in the act of scoring" or does the try have to be given for that to come into play? Were an eight pointer given there would have been a nice little upset that Leigh fans, in particular, would have enjoyed immensely!
Enjoyed another tight game tonight on the box (agonising for Aekins at the death), but think neither of those teams will get much change out of their remaining two fixtures.

Weird little factoid - I remember seeing Tony Iro play at Mansfield, now that is a blast from the past.
He was a big lad, who had moved from winger to second row. Normally involving a little weight gain.
