Whatever happened to caution letters for tripping?
www.rugby-league.com/the_rfl/disciplinary
And, irony of ironies, 'Fax's Ben Johnston is up for a grade A trip on.............................................................................Richie Myler!!
I find this very disappointing. As 'crimes' go on a rugby pitch, tripping hardly ranks as a particularly bad one. Yet here we are, with a player who hardly commits an offence, up for 1-2 matches for his first one. Just how has Myler been cited for it seven times, and got away with it each time, yet Reynolds is to be banned for his first one?! Reynolds' name has cropped up a few times this season, at the Disciplinary - all for being hit off the ball, in late challenges! Perhaps that has counted against him?

| Still not sure how you have differing levels of severity for a trip.
Assuming neither Hampshire or Mortimer are available for various reasons, may as well put Stewart in the halves given the role he's been given already. At least that will give us a full compliment of forwards. Would bring Fleming in and get Langi into second row as well. Possibly with Vea at prop. They both look like they are one position too wide to me.

Ryan Hampshire was sitting on the bench during the pre-match warm up, and was then sat with the rest of the non-players in the stand, during the game. I think he is back 'in the fold'.

| We are going to be really scraping the barrel if we get any more disciplinaries / injuries or internal strife in the final games.
I'd rest Higham against Wire - it's a 6 day turnaround and was derelict of coaches to keep him out all match - he's 37 this month.
Could we get Lewis Foster back if needed? And Raswthofne is on the clubs squad page but he's gone elsewhere?
Any chance of Hock, Crooks, Mortimer playing again this season?

Surely there is a chance of Reynolds playing, 1-2 games, good record, EGP may make him available

| Looks like G Bird might not feature again this season with him being charged.
Rule – 15.1(d) Detail – Dangerous Throw – Throwing player into ground Grade – D = 3-5 match ban. My guess is he'll be given 3 matches making him available for the MPG should they be in it.

| I thought Paterson was outstanding when he played at 6 against the Bulls at Odsal last year. Maybe a solution?
Disciplinary is a joke, Ryan Atkins not charged....... What he did to Dixon was one of the worst cases of intent EVER, he deliberately tried to injure the player, as they'd been in each others faces all game.

I agree with you 100% on both subjects! I knew Atkins woulnd'nt be banned, just as I knew any of our players would have been! His deliberate Elbow into Sammutts face should have brought a Ban alone!
Paterson would be my choice for Stand off at Wire, I thought he could have moved there during Sundays game as he was punching holes in the Widnes defence, unlike some of the others!
Cory is a very talented player, much more ability than Stewart with the ball in hand! Dont forget, Cory was the goalkicker too at Salford!! Drnkwater just does not take defences on with Ball in hand and, he needs to run a lot more! Perhaps Hampshire should be give a chance at Scrum Half? Hampshire however, would definately play for me and, I would pair him at Hooker with Pelisier as both of them like to run direct with the Ball and Wire are suspect at the back! Mickey deserves a rest for me this week, we could have three massive games to come?
We need to bring back Maria and Higson for their go forward, could Higson play in the back Row
Changes are required, both to personnel and methods and the Wire game is the one to experiment in

| One match ban for Ben, after taking the EGP. Needless to say the other two 'trippers' also took the EGP, and escaped a ban. So, nobody was prepared to do a 'Myler' and chance getting away with it then!
I wonder how many matches Greg Bird will get? My guess is three, then he could be back for a possible £1 Million game!

Just watched the incident back on LCTV, tbh i couldn't see anything serious or sinister in it. To be fair,if there is another angle the MRP have got their hands on, then maybe they've seen something different, If not then i think they're guessing.

I think you're right about Brown. When he drops that shoulder the bigger guys don't tend to read it so quick, think Cory being a tall fella would get exploited by Brown.
Higson to back row,my only concern with that would be his passing ability, you very rarely see him pass even when he has the opportunity to.
Hampshire and Pelisier at hooker is an interesting one obviously the cost of that being Higham. Can we really afford not to have him on the park? Although we need some sort of kicking game, which not ideal but Rocky would suffice.
I have real concern over Mortimer wasn't this the same injury that kept him out for months in Oz.

What have you had for breakfast? In over 50 years watching RL, I have never ever seen a player make so many mistakes and give away penalties so many penalties as consistently as Higson does, whatever he manages as a positive during a game he usually capitulates with a mistake, Hampshire? he is not the smallest player I have ever seen on a professional RL pitch but he is the most dominated I have ever seen, the opposition throw him around like a rag doll, It has come to pass that Shaun Wane and Daryl Powell know a little about this game, hence he is no longer employed by either, he is not good, full stop.

Well Hampshire is just about the only realistic option at half and hasn't looked too bad when given the opportunity
Don't think you need to worry about Higson playing- believe his season may be over

Now that is an interesting concept !!
My preference would be Hampshire as he runs in hard and has pace but his passing isnt exactly that of Darren Lockyer !!
BUT, Greg is a natural halfback, great passer and create gaps with ball in hand. I recall him as a kid having a wonderful passing game at Whitehaven and tore us to shreds in the last ever game at Hilton Park !!
Brown is a better fullback than Centre.
What has happened to Crooks ?
Higson ??? with the sounds of it his attitude has become as bad as his golf !!
Warrington are not cracking any pots and were very very poor against London who chanced their arm and created alot of opportunities. If we go into our shell and play with anxiety, i can see us getting absolutely pummelled !!
With Halifax and London coming up, the MPG may well become a distant dream as London WILL fancy their chances against us !
