Looks like we are running with Mortimer and Higham at hooker/interchange hooker again. It worked well against Catalans and gives us options when Mortimer is on the field. Will Clare get a chance this weekend?

If Clare is to be risked then Dawson would make way for me! Matty has not been at his best lately however, its a bold decision to change a winning team!
Its time for our experienced Grand Final / Championship winning players to lead the way from now on, each game is a Cup Final and no room for error! Straight forward Rugby is the way, get a lead and keep the opposion penned back in their own 25 with kicks! Winning formula

Apparently degsy told the lads and coaching staff if they lose Sunday he pulling everything out don't know if it's reverse psychology to get the win but he defo thrown his dummy out of pram on this one and hopefully it gets the correct result

Agreed. Dawson gives us much less go forward than Higson for me. Adam had a great game last out and makes double the go forward yards from our own line and is more dangerous near the opposition end. Dawson has not let us down for sure but has also not seemed as effective as late.

Some folk seem to forget, with about a minute and a half left in the first half against Catalans, on the last tackle, when we kick into the air on their 10m line, Higson decides to blatantly tackle Duport in the air, give a penalty and we end up on our 10m line with Reynolds having to knock it dead from a Walsh kick through, then we have to drop out, and fortunately nothing came off it. Now that is Dumb,and it's things like that which can cost us.

Would be very surprised if Clare played his first game of the season in one such as massive as this

Clare and Richards to miss out for me

I agree about Richards, but Clare must be given a chance to show what he can do,I've been told he's been fit for a couple of weeks now,he has speed which will be valuable against Widnes.

Richards should get in before Stewart imo

No doubt fit, and no doubt fast - but quite likely match rusty, and whilst you could put a case forward for either Higson or Dawson to be rested it's too much of a risk for me.

Maybe next week against wire when the expectations are less

Richards your old style head down and at em prop, good squad player who may well improve with age. As frustrating as Stewart is for his alleged salary he seems to be doing a better job now since he stopped being an extra half back - gets the nod for me, does a lot of work defensively

On Thursday night Rugby programme on Manchester Radio - they said Clare was part of their commentating team for Widnes game - it looks like team is already picked and he misses out.

Keep the penalties down. Don't get dragged into any sillyness and concentrate on the target of a win. Then I feel that whoever plays can and will beat Widnes

Feeling nervous about this one. A huge match and it needs a huge performance.

If we can match the intensity of our last game against Catalans we will be fine. But we have often followed up our best performances with some truly woeful displays this season.

We need to back it up tomorrow and find some consistency.

Gutted I can't make it to this one.
