The Watcher thinks this is one of the daftest ideas yet from the so called leaders of our game. The Watcher likens it to La Liga sending over 2 2nd division teams to play a game here.

Up to them , doesn't affect myself or the club I support

Soon ordinary fans wont be able to afford to watch their team,Catalan is out of the reach of most fans normal budget and Toronto is pie in the sky except to a very few.RL is a northern game its taken years to get half decent teams in London and France,and this was only done by bending the rules as to how many Aussies they could play.Its criminal the way the game has been treated in Cumbria

What right do you have to decide who your team plays ? , whoever it may be they will still have to play in Leigh , those are the games you can watch , where they play their home games is irrelevant , you then have the option to attend or not

In football we now have 3 clubs in the premiership all based on the south coast ( Southampton,Bournemouth and Brighton ) , most likely Newcastle or one of the 5 northwest based clubs will be playing some of these teams midweek , or viceversa , are you suggesting these clubs shouldn't be allowed in footballs top tier ?

I have as much right to an opinion as you ,I stated my opinion and im not one bit interested in football.I like to support my team home and away

As do I , however this sport like any other is much bigger than you or I , nobody has the right to decide who can play it or watch it

From an income perspective though, it's quite handy to play your home matches slightly nearer than 12,000 miles away!



As for not affecting us, we can only hope that either Wigan or Hull's next fixture (after their trip to Oz) is against us. Although, right now, I would happily settle for us just being able to play Wigan and Hull next season!

Will there be free coach travel for away fans?

Only if it's on a Thursday!

I Presume they'll play a game prior to an NRL game, the only problem with this is most of the time they tend to have New South Wales cup/Queensland cup games and Holden under 20's games prior to the main NRL game.
Could always be a curtain raiser to State of Origin game though, least you'd get a big crowd and it wouldn't be on too early in the UK about 8 or 9am me thinks.
On the subject of travel I was born in Leigh, went to college in Leigh and followed Leigh all around the country Home and most aways and even managed to attend 2 games this year at LSV -24000 Mile round trip. Living in New Zealand I love my rugby league so i go to watch the New Zealand Warriors each year they have to play a game in Perth Australia thats a 9 hour flight from Auckland, every 2 weeks they have to play in Aussie which is a 4 hour flight, I don't attend away games too expensive.
Just thought i'd put my twopenneth in about playing games away from home.
