Club is stuck between a rock & a hard place. Stay quiet & fans acuse the club of not letting them know what's going on and the rumour mill grindes away, release a statement & we're doing our dirty laundry in public & people start concocting bizzare conspiricy theories depending on who they beleive. Can't win so just have to bear it out & focus on what's happening on the pitch.

Precisely. I think a lot of people made their minds up months or even years ago who they were going to blame at the first sign of any trouble and nothing is going to change their minds'.

Is there a problem? The Ryan Brierley roadshow is almost done with, so it's onwards and upwards. And when Leigh get to the middle 8's, he won't be around to go hiding again, we need someone who can step up and deliver this year. And who needs drama and a pretentious individual knocking about the place essentially holding the club to ransom. Every interview over the last 2 years was about whether he's staying or going. How about the club taking control and having a player who respects the Leigh club a bit more and just shuts up and plays rugby.

You could see the energy among the squad was a lot better yesterday even with some new boys on the park. It's a different team this year and maybe the players can now concentrate on doing what they do best without the candyfloss.

Although we knew we had signed chase before the confirmation date of 25/11/2015 , there has been plenty of time to object to the chase signing (and take action) well before now.

What makes you think that? Rowley sounded very pleased to sign Chase when we did & why wouldn't he be? Rangi is undoubtedly a fantastic player. Can't beleive anyone thinks signing Rangi had anything to do with Paul leaving two months later on the eve of the season. Not seen any of the players indicate they don't want him there either. I can't wait to see Rangi back looked very good before his injury.

Agreed best two halfbacks in the division, the division we want to win promotion from. Ridy is excellent but is getting on & might not have the pace for SL & Ryan didn't perform particularly well in the Super 8s and has now stabbed the club in the back. Rangi is a proven quality halfback who's played at the highest levels in the game.

It was a preseason friendly with unlimited interchanges & an infinite bench, why wouldn't he want to play Rangi? Normally does as most coaches do & play every fit player available. Would think any coach would want to see how his new half back gets on so as to work out how to fit him in the team.

So did Hock and Patterson, did Rowley not want them either? Certainly seemed to want Hock & has gotten the best out of him. Paul has a history of taking players who messed up at other clubs & getting the best out of them. Fax & Fev fans said Barlow be nothing but trouble & Rowly got him playing excellently. Why the sudden suggested change in attitude from Paul?

Agreed there but I very much doubt he's the only player with those issues, just in Rangi's case his issues have been made public.

Don't think for one second Derek would try to interfere with the coaching side, he's always said that was down to Paul, always said "I leave that side to Paul as at the end of the day its his job on the line & so it's only fair to let him live or die by his own sword." or words to that effect. See no reason he'd have a sudden change of philosophy. Star signing or not (& we've had a few star signings Derek wanted & got, did he insist Fui played every game or Hock or Higham?).

The truth also usually has some evidence to back it up.

Fair enough, not having a go just disagreeing with you. Think he's an excellent player who's been playing very well up to now.

They don't but a lot of the time temperament is down to the situation, look at Hock & all the other players we've got from Salford.

Sorry but I've seen a few rumours suggesting Paul's resignation was something to do with Rangi & I just don't buy it, don't think it makes any sense. It's no secret some people have a problem with Derek & it's no secret some people don't like Rangi. Think people have pulled a hypothesis from thin air to have a go at two people they don't like which just doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

I'm not sure I've seen enough from Rangi to be convinced. Flashes of individual brilliance, but not enough team ethic,resilience to adversity and leadership.
If we're to have another half back, I would have gone for an on field general....if they exist of,course.....we have enough creative players for me. What we lack is leadership under pressure in the middle,8s...can Rangi do that job???

I thought Rowleys comment on "a range of roles" for Rangi was revealing.

I am not Chases greatest fan,but saying that I think he could/could have been a great asset in the play offs.Hes a player who can win you games out of nothing.As Mr Chairman says riddy and kes are an outstanding pair of halves.In my opinion Rowley last year played them in games were Reynolds would have been a more than able deputy

Oh I agree, we need another general but that's the biggest weakenss in English RL that such players are like hen's teeth. We're fortunate to have Ridy who might not have the pace or the flair of some half backs but he does a very good job as general which is more than lots of teams have.
