| Leigh have got a lot of intelligent players in their ranks.... how can we fit them all in?
1. Brierley
2. Higson
3. Tonga
4. Armstrong
5. Kay
6. Chase
7. Ridyard
8. Emmitt
9. Higham
10. Weston
11. Hanson
12. Patterson
13. Beswick
14. Moimoi
15. Hock
16. Matuai
17. McNally
Seems a bit harsh dropping McNally to the bench, unless Rowley rotates the pivots every week.... there will be a lot of fighting for places this year

| Dropping McNally to the bench isn't 'harsh' it is just pointless. Why play a half back at full back and have our only out and out full back on the bench?
With the squad we have the bench options will be an interesting selection this year but at no point do I expect our bench to consist of 2 props, a 2nd row and a Full Back with no 2nd hooker as he is already starting at loose forward for no apparent reason.
Bizarre team IMO.

| Beswick can play 13....
Australia had Gidley on the bench for years who was a full back, saying that he was a bit more versatile.
Not sure how you'd fit them all in the same team, maybe Rowley wont

Fair enough, maybe I was a bit harsh. And yes, Beswick can play 13, doesn't mean that he should play there. We have enough quality back rowers that we shouldn't have to shoe horn a hooker into that position.
I just don't see the logic in taking our only 'proper' full back, who happens to be the best full back in the league, and putting him on the bench.
I would expect our bench for most of this season to consist of 1 hooker, 2 props and either a 2nd row or a 3rd pivot depending on the opposition.

| It's not about fitting them all in,you play your strongest 17.
Those not in it,work their balls off to get into it,its all about quality replacing quality when needed.

| Hansen is suspended for 2morros game. I would definitely play Spencer and would have Ridyard on the bench

| McNally Higson Tonga Armstrong Kay ridyard chase spencer higham Weston Dixon Hansen Patterson subs brierley hock hopkins moi moi. Think we have to find time for Ryan, I think we put him in at hooker when we spell Micky, we know we have enough players who can play with the ball maybe we can split the field and use chase/ridyard and Ryan at hooker depending on we're we are on field Ryan would be deadly against tired forwards

| I'd say there's 4 names a given in the opening 13 in most weeks and one of those is Gregg,
Gregg McNally
Mickey Higham
Harrison Hansen
Cory Patterson
The other 9 places are up for grabs along with 4 bench spots.
Injuries/suspensions/form will make decisions easier as time ticks by but right now I'm not sure how Paul will pick his team. It should mean we see one hell of a game tomorrow!

Liam Kay is a nailed on starter. The best winger we have had at the club in a long time.

| Whatever PR selects I think it'll be a close game. Can't see us winning by more than 20.

| We now have 2 weeks before the season kicks off, this Squad is the best I have seen in years and picking the starting 17 will be very difficult ,we could all pick our first choice 17 and it's possible every choice would be different in some way, my own 17 when everyone is fit and available is this one.
1.McNally.
2.Higson.
3.Tonga.
.4.Armstrong.
5.Kay.
6.Chase.
7.Brierley.
8.Weston.
9.Higham.
10.Hock.
11.Hanson
12.Matua.
13.Patterson.
14.Beswick.
15.Hopkins.
16.Spencer.
17.Dixon.
Obviously we have a few class players in reserve but we could rotate Ridyard, Worthington,Pownall, Harper,Foster,Emmitt, Fui, and Barlow as injuries will happen. Will we go through the season unbeaten?NO ,I said it last year and this season will be the same somewhere a team will play us ,everything will go right for them and they will beat us , don't ask me where though. The most important question is will we get into SL this season, a resounding YES that's not being big headed or overconfident I feel we have the quality, Skill, Speed, and when the dry grounds come ,at some point I think we will score 100 points against a team,I said this last year it didn't happen,I believe it will this season ,I can't wait for 2 weeks time, bring on the Bullfrogs.

| I think it's daft to play players out of position (even if they can cover there) and leave out some of best players just to shoehorn names into the team. Think the only option is to rotate our players, Rangi is a fantastic player but not sure if he's someone who can just turn it on straight away if he's not been playing but don't think you can leave out Ryan and Ridy offers something else in organisation so I think the only option is to rotate them round the 2 half back positions. After a few games I'm sure we'll see how the various combinations work, hopefully just in time for our trip to Odsal.
