The first question?
1) Do we have enough strength in depth this season to provale to Super League? So many saying last season the squad was too big. Many players sat in the stand for long periods of the season, yet are less than adequate for the new season!

| A. We only need 17 players if all are in form and we don't get any injury's - the question is poor imo. If you ask are we better placed then the answer is Yes, the retained players are in the second year of being FT and we have strengthened significantly in critical areas

| Think fullback is the only position we could really be considered 'short' in. McNally is obviously fantastic, the best in the Championship IMO, and luckily he seems to avoid injuries but he is the only out and out fullback we have. But Pownall is capable of covering there and if Riddy and Rangi are fit I think Brierley could work well at fullback without leaving us short in the halves so think we have enough cover to get by. Higson and Pala could play there too if needed.
Wingers we have Kay, Pownall and Higson with probably Pala/Tonga/Worthington capable of covering.
Centres we have Armstrong, Worthington, Tonga and Pala with Higson/Harper/Maitua as cover.
Half Backs are Ridyard, Brierley and Chase with Beswick as very good cover. McNally capable too but would probably leave us short at Full Back.
Props looks good with plenty of depth. Emmitt, Weston, Moimoi, Hock, Spencer, Acton, Hopkins and Barlow plus some decent sized 2nd rowers to provide cover if needed.
Hookers will be Beswick and Higham. Hopefully get some more game time for young Foster too, really think he could be a great player for us this year.
2nd Rowers and Loose will be between Hansen, Paterson, Maitua, Hock, Dixon and Barlow.
We have improved our 1st choice 17 but I think more important is that we look much stronger outside of the 1st choice 17 than we were last season.

| Keep on posting, the more different opinions we have on here the more interesting it is. The only people I block are the boring repetitive trolls who post the sae rubbish over & over again on every topic as I cant be bothered re-reading them.
Don't think depth of the squad will be too much of a problem, when you look at who we've lost who regularly played in the 1st team:
1.Sean Penkywicz
2.Oliver Wilkes
3.Tommy Goulden
4.Martin Aspinwall
5.Kurt Haggerty
6.Matt Sarsfield
7.Michael Platt
and who we've gained:
1.Dayne Weston
2.Cory Paterson
3.Reni Maitua
4.Harrison Hansen
5.Rangi Chase
6.Willie Tonga
the actual 1st team playing squad isn't much smaller but is significantly improved.
Also as Nozzy says we are quite lucky to have several players who can play in multiple positions which will mitigate any injury worries that could occur.

In a perfect world without injuries and drugs,I would agree with you.In reality we are probably worse off even with the new signings as we have no back-up this coming season. It won't be the backs who take a knock again this season..And you think we can go with the same 17 into the 8's?
We have more quality, but less players..Wire for example as a club have learn't the lesson last season, should we not be following the same path.Or have we took a step backwards?

I think its a big mistake to scrap our reserve team and also wrong to have players out on season long loans even before we have played the friendly games

| Leigh's current squad is thirty three players with six loaned out, with the players that have left only four played on a regular basis. We have signed six quality players for 2016 to replace these, so based on that we have more depth than last year.
