| Was told yesterday he will be here next season on a season long loan.
Wonder if it's true.

| Not sure about that Frank, but saw an advert promoting the England v NZ series, and it had 2 players in it, Josh Charnley & Issac Luke. Weird, not even in Wigan's 1st team now, never mind England's.

| If true we should buy him a new car as part of the deal. Saw his current one in Rivington yesterday and it is awful. Horrible colour, ridiculous reg. His car is worse than his haircut. Genuinely wouldn't swap him for Liam Kay.

| It's obvious that after the Rangi affair we won't be signing any more players unless we off load some, and if players don't want to go unless they are paid off with their contracts,we won't be signing any more

| Well in that case if there are no more 'ins' we have a half back issue, and that will bite us on the behind this season. For 95% of the season we only used 2 halfbacks who were ultimately crocked come the middle 8s. Without better planning, the same will happen again, in fact, this season it will be harder to get in the top 4 than last season, despite what the likes of atomic will say

| Higham and Patterson will step in when and if needed but I do feel we will have a very experienced 6/7/9 from the land down under

| Charnley would be a very good loan deal.
If say the pies are paying half or most of his salary for the season & the aim of Wigan is to keep him fit & playing at a decent level it would suit both clubs.
Rather have Josh on the wing than Adam, a much better strike winger.
Of course it could all just be Pies in the sky.

Ste ,I can't see it happening ,as Budge Burgess leaves for Aussies land next season, and they will need Charney, also why would Shaun Wane do Leigh any favours, after all some Leythers label him Scum. Comments like that are NOT needed,Shaun is a nice guy.And a good Coach.

| I would have thought Charney would be in the Wigan side, with Burgess leaving..... unless they go with:
2. Gelling / Tierney
3. Bateman / Sarginson
4. Gildard / J.Tomkins
5. Manfriedi
That would leave them 2 out and out wingers? I can only see this happening if he's fallen out with Wane

| Think Charnley & Tompkins had a great partnership playing with each other, since Sam left Josh hasn't been anywhere near as good. With Sam back & Burgess leaving would expect Charnley to get back into the team and do better. Agreed wouldn't swap Kay for him, Pownall or Higson hmmmm, think both are good players & another winger isn't really what we need.

I did make my opinions known for next season in another thread, one of which you commented on. Nothing in that post stated anything about an easy ride into the top 4, if you cast your mind back.
I can see Charnley happening, he's certainly not on Shaun Wane's christmas card list.

Atomic you are right about Josh and Shaun Wane, they are not the best of friends , but I've been told Charnley has promised Shaun a BIG year from him next season which is why I can't see him coming to Leigh, Shaun also expects big things from Gildart as well next year ,I would love to see Josh at Leigh next year along with Rocky Hampshire who I rate very highly.

| No doubt as and when internationals and great players come available then we will put our hat in the ring. As for Wane he will probably get lucky again next year and Tomkins will win him some silverware because without Sam hes won nothing and been shown up as a bar room coach!!!

Not been on here for a while but anyone thinking top 4 next year will be hard im not sure i agree, we have just added 100K's worth of talent to a squad thats lost 2 league games in 2 years. I see nothing but a journey to next August were by the real test begins.

I must say I agree 100% with you Ste,as I feel Fev are weaker this year , I'm not sure about Bradford, London are a bit unknown but should be beatable, Sheff are in transition, and I think Fax wont take teams by surprise as they did last year ,for me they will finish 4th or 5th, I predict Dews as my dark horses, I just hope we learn from last season's mistakes in the Qualifiers.

Inclined to agree with Charlie, Dewsbury improve every year wouldn't be at all surprised if they did a Fax, made the top 4 & impressed a lot of people in The Qualifiers. Think they're still a few years off challenging for top spot & promotion but if they carry on as they have they'll get there.

| I see Bradford have announced that they are running with a reduced FT squad next season which only suggests one thing to me. Come the Middle 8's they will have room to manoeuvre under the salary cap so one should expect an influx of Full Time Super League loan signings in at Odsal to bolster their numbers and give them a massive boost when you need it most.

Aye but every other game during that period was a belter which you got through by the skin of your teeth. More of the same next year, love our games with Leigh - always classics
