As Salford are trying to get games postponed for injuries & Wakefield have been banging on about how they're only doing so bad due to having players out I do really think our biggest strength is the number of quality players we have, our strength in depth. All teams struggle with injuries at some point but this year I don't think it'll particularly make a big difference to us even if we have several players out injured.

There's 2 13s there not including Wilkes, Aspinwall, Walker(loan), Hock, Tracey or Foster; and I think they'd both be very confident against anyone in The Championship.

Hopefully Reynolds can be called back from his loan, especially with McNally out and Pownall, Ridyad and Brierley all limping at various points of the Batley game.

Can Pitman be called back, or is he on season long loan?

McNally was sat near me on Sunday and said he will be ok for next week!

Wouldn’t mind seeing Reynolds having a go at 9 with Penky out, not that Foster did anything wrong Sunday his time will come.

Overall squad and reserves are way too good for Championship rugby. Strength in depth most definitely.

I also personally believe the amount and quality we currently have are more than capable of gaining promotion.

I am not so sure that Reynolds has good enough defence for a 9.

Is that based on games with Leigh or his loan spell..

I haven't seen enough of him to judge, and that's why I'd like to so him given a go, but at 9 he'd inter changing with BB and therefore able to put more into defence than saving himself at 6 or 7.

Ben has had very little time on the pitch in any game at Leigh to be able to form an opinion.

I'm a big fan of his (great goal kicker too) but defensively he's not a 9 (yet!) in my opinion.

Foster has the potential to be as good as any hooker in super league why anyone would want to play Reynolds there is beyond me ! Its like asking Acton to play full back

Salfordlad would make a great full back,try getting past him if he catches you for a chat.

Rubbish it’s more like signing a half back and playing him on the wing but we’d never do that either would we.

I hope Foster fulfils his potential, but in todays game there’s little to choose between half backs and hookers, so I’d like to see what Reynolds has to offer, without disrupting the Riddy/kez partnership so with Penky out perhaps an opportunity to see what he can do, we may need him further down the line.

Would you play lex at hooker ? You say there is little difference I disagree, hookers regularly top the tackle count in a game , make most meters and potentially most tackle busts , can Reynolds do that I don't think so I see Reynolds as a creative player providing good balls for 2nd rowers and centres to run onto

No I wouldn’t play Kez there but we’ve played BB at HB on quite a few occasions, there’s always some players who can’t change roles and Reynolds may or may not be one of those, I’ve said I’d like to see him being given a go and you disagree, which is fair enough.

There is some overlap between all those playmaker roles, full back, half back & hooker but Renynolds is already able to play half back and full back very well (just not quite as well as our current half backs and full back) & while we've got Foster doing quite well & coming on at hooker along with Bob & Penky doubt we need to require Renynolds to play another position. He'll be cover for half the team before long

Yes potential is there in Foster,and no doubt at some point come the time he will also be out on loan.Ben will return a better player when the time comes.

Both players are in learning curves,and when the time is right,they'll both be top players.To recall Ben from loan for no reason,would'nt help his development in the same way giving Lewis 80 mins wouldn't help his development..

Not sure I agree about the loans. What are the chances of the players on season long loans at Barrow playing for leigh? Foster should get a chance over the next couple of months while Penky's out, if he does well, then he should be considered genuine competition for Penky and Beswick for a place in the 17.

Understand that Reynolds is getting more meaningful games for Doncaster than he would our reserves, but main point is that he should be available to recall. If he isn't, then the strength in depth is gone. If there is any risk with players that went off last week (Ridyard, Brierley, Pownall, Worthington), then he should be recalled to be in our 19 man squad, so can play half back or full back. Then, same applies, if he does well, should be seen as competition for places rather than backup for injuries.

This season there's little chance, next season if they've improved, as they should, then there'll be better chance of them playing for Leigh. They're all young developing players, players for the future on loan at Barrow, not quite ready for where we are but very well could be one day soon. I'm sure if Foster does well & is better than Bob or Penky he will be not just considered by played.



Think he can be recalled now. Rules on loans, I think, are they go out for 1 month then it works on a week-by-week basis and can be recalled at any time after that 1st month.

Once the month is up we can call Reynolds back anytime with 48 hours notice I think.
