My mate gets a text before a game with the teamsheets on, how do you sign up to this?

Be a member of the Touchdown Club.

I am but do not receive such a text.

I am, as are 3 others who don't get it.

The lad that gets the text isn't a member.

Should just be for Silver & Gold members. If you are in these categories and don't get the text, best to contact someone at Touchdown.

Still don't get why my mate gets it, and if i'm honest he sends it to me and I send it to all my mates.

Don't get why this brilliant idea is exclusive to the few Gold and Silver touchdown club members.

I thought you were talking about [size=150texting[/size? And seriously yes, we'd love to be able to email each of our supporters with news snippets - but there is an exercise to be undertaken to get those email addresses first. Any volunteers?

I remember seeing this classed as one of the perks for joining the Gold or Silver packages, why should people not in these packages receive the perk?

You need to ask the Touchdown Club what the benefits are.

I wasn't being sarcastic - I was answering a question you asked about [size=150texts[/size - check back. You then introduced emails, which is a good, free way of communicating, into the conversation. My response about emails was serious - that's why I used the word 'seriously'. Obtaining the email addresses of about 1700+ people isn't a straightforward exercise - we will need volunteers - that's why I asked the question 'Any volunteers' - i.e. in the plural, which was not just aimed at one person.

I am good looking'as everyone knows me will attest' but I never say anything and don't use sunbeds.

Ok. Forget it. Ill withdraw my offer to help. Give me a shout when you're interested in someone helping you. All 4 of the people that I got signed up to touchdown seem quite annoyed at the disparity and hostility showed to fans.

I won't be making an effort until things change.

Couldn't agree more Jonny, I pay for my season ticket each year and into LISA knowing I can only make half the home games due to work and personal circumstances but do it to help the club, after joining the touchdown club what actual benefit do I get from being a bronze member? If anyone from the club or touchdown would like to contact me to help out in anyway I will be more than happy to help if it helps out fans like myself and friends that pay good money to support but feel like sometimes we get nowt back.

Did you actually read any of the Touchdown Club literature before you joined? To question this now when they appear to have delivered everything they said they would is totally unfair. If you have any feedback then contact them direct but to come on here and sound off after the event defies belief.

All I was asking before I got slated was how come my mate who gets a text with the teamsheets on, when I don't and how I could get it.

So why do people who arn't members at all receive it?

Maybe the service could be offered at a small cost to others, Club get a phone contract with unlimited texts and charge a few quid, a season to sign up it, could make a bob or two for them?

Like I offered Lynda, I don't mind gathering a load of email addresses and then all it would need is to be sent on matchday as the text is.

I actually think a Leigh Centurions app will be the way forward in the future, which when I speak to the club i'll offer to create for them, but I think the new website is the priority.

Sorry Jonny - in the midst of trying to answer other points, I missed that one - and a very interesting one it is. I can only think of one reason - but don't know whether it's the right answer!

There is a Gold + package, whereby Gold members bring along someone else. I wonder if they are the people who are getting the texts, that you refer to? If not, I can't think why anyone else should be getting this perk.

By the way, thanks for the offer of trying to help with email addresses. My point is still the same - it will take more generous offers to make it work.
